Director, Radiation Therapy Services (Regional) - Regional Oncology Admin - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

The Director of Radiation Therapy is responsible for the operations of all hospital and ambulatory radiation therapy clinics and treatment locations, including strategic planning, day-to-day operations, patient care, financial management, and personnel management in compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and accreditations.

Essential Duties:

  • Selects, trains/orients, assigns department staff, evaluates performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.
  • Assists in developing and monitoring departmental budgets.
  • Maintains departmental turnover reports and collects statistical data for administrative purposes.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • Develops management objectives and policies for the various departments and monitor results. Interpret objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinates the activities of the assigned departments with other departments both within and outside the hospital. Resolves problems with department heads concerning use of resources. Encourages and maintains open lines of communication with and between employee groups, other medical personnel, and patients and their family members.
  • Evaluates the performance of the various departments as well as the performance of key managers and supervisors. Advises employees promptly when performance problems arise, or changes are needed.
  • Establishes the operating budgets for the various departments and monitors performance against budgets.
  • Assists Administration with special projects and with short- and long-term strategic planning.
  • Attends promptly to the administrative details of the position including the signing of documents, preparation of reports, completion of performance appraisals, and other employee-related actions.
  • Ensures that all operations within the scope or the position are carried out in an ethical, responsible manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or similar field.
  • Req 5 years in hospital or ambulatory clinic management.
  • Req Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to function under stress.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pref Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or similar field.
  • Pref Registered Technologist - R.T. (ARRT)

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $158,080.00 - $260,832.00.
