Job Title: Director, Public Policy – Insights
Reports To: Senior Director, Public Policy
Overview
The Director, Public Policy – Insights leads data-driven policy analysis and insight generation to support the company’s public policy and regulatory strategy. This role focuses on leveraging analytics to anticipate regulatory trends, assess business and societal impacts, and strengthen evidence-based advocacy across nutrition, sustainability, labelling, taxation, marketing, and supply chain policy issues.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Analytics & Research
Lead quantitative and qualitative research to evaluate public policy and regulatory proposals affecting non-alcoholic beverages, including sugar / sweetener regulation, labelling, advertising restrictions, environment, packaging, water, and excise or health-related taxes.
Analyse legislative, regulatory, consumer, economic, and health data to assess potential business impacts.
Develop impact models, scenario analyses, and forecasts to support proactive policy positioning and risk mitigation leveraging on technology/AI.
Insights & Strategic Advisory
Translate complex analyses into clear actionable insights and narratives for the business.
Develop executive briefings, dashboards, policy memos, white papers, and data-driven advocacy materials.
Co-ordinate and lead the development of integrated PACS Long Range Plans and Annual Business Plans.
Lead in PACS capability development, implementation and measurement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with SRA, Technical, legal, sustainability, marketing, digital services, and finance teams to align analytics.
Support system and franchise public affairs teams with localized data and insights for engagement with policymakers and regulators.
Coordinate with global and other OU teams to ensure consistency and secure benchmarks.
External Engagement & Thought Leadership
Collaborate with external partners including industry associations, academic institutions, consultants, and research organizations.
Support engagement with policymakers, regulators, and NGOs by providing credible, transparent, and data-driven evidence.
Contribute to industry thought leadership through submissions, presentations, and participation in policy forums.
Requirements
Degree / Diploma in Public Policy, Economics, Strategy, Data Analytics, Data Science or a related field.
5+ years of experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, strategy, data analytics, or government relations.
Strong understanding of non-alcoholic sector, public health, nutrition, environmental, and consumer protection policy landscapes.
Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling insights for executive and non-technical audiences.
