Director, Provider Engagement
The Director, Provider Engagement is a Lead Specialist (individual contributor) role responsible for executing Specialty Products & Programs (SP&P) performance objectives across a portfolio of highly engaged strategic oncology customers. This role serves as a subject matter expert and trusted partner, working collaboratively with US Oncology and Onmark members to design and deliver high‑quality, comprehensive SP&P engagements.
This position also plays a critical role in coordinating enterprise‑wide launch and execution strategies for complex multisource products, including 505(b)(2) products and biosimilars, ensuring alignment across McKesson teams and delivering strong provider outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Execute SP&P performance objectives for a defined group of highly engaged strategic oncology customers, including US Oncology practices, strategic accounts, state societies, and other key segments.
Partner with Business Development Directors and Pricing teams to effectively communicate SP&P sourcing and supply strategies, market dynamics, pricing insights, and manufacturer updates to customers.
Coordinate enterprise‑wide launch and execution strategies for complex multisource products (e.g., biosimilars, 505(b)(2) products), collaborating with GPO, Brand, Pricing, Sales, Campaigns, and other cross‑functional teams.
Collaborate closely with US Oncology leadership, Pharmacy Solutions teams, GPO partners, Sales, MID, and other internal stakeholders to drive contract performance and deep provider engagement.
Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for the largest strategic customers, developing strategic plans that align practice goals with the economic and operational success of SP&P contracts.
Lead the monthly Pharmacy Directors Advisory Committee focused on multisource drugs.
Monitor and analyze outside purchasing of generic products within the US Oncology Network; conduct root cause analysis and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
Represent SP&P at P&T committees, National Pharmacy Board (NPB) meetings, customer conferences, and QBRs, articulating the multisource value proposition and program value.
Support onboarding and transition activities for new customers joining McKesson and the US Oncology Network.
Lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives to improve value, innovate offerings, streamline processes, and enhance the member experience.
Develop, educate, and coach both new and tenured sales teams on the SP&P market landscape, dynamics, and value proposition.
Present SP&P strategies, market insights, and performance updates to senior leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Master’s degree preferred.
Critical Skills and Experience
10+ years of relevant healthcare experience.
5+ years of experience in sales, consulting, or provider engagement roles.
5+ years of experience in leadership, business analysis, and strategy development within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, or management consulting environments.
Prior experience with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and/or specialty generics.
Oncology experience highly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong experience presenting to key stakeholders.
Strong service‑oriented selling skills, service delivery capabilities, and executive‑level client relationship management.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
This position requires prolonged sitting in front of a computer.
This role will require travel up to 25% for team meetings and customer visits.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
This role is a hybrid position if you live near the Las Colinas office. The selected candidate is expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.
