Here's what you can expect as a Director of Project Management for IT at DaVita:


This Director, Project Management (IT) advises leadership and/or business executives at the highest levels about the project portfolio, status and resource planning for delivering strategic business Initiatives. They are responsible for planning, directing, and ensuring the successful management of designed business solutions utilizing the complete resources of the PMO Office and assigned project management teams. They will provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing methods and procedures that are efficient, effective and meet good business practice. They will also maintain excellent communication with upper management both within and across organizations to ensure smooth running of all projects undertaken by team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the strategic aspects of large, complex projects and mitigate risk and execute the goal
  • Review deliverables across projects and programs and ascertain the true status of cross-lane projects and drive cross-lane teams
  • Ensure project reviews and quality assurance procedures comply to IT 2.0 and as 2x2 commitments to value, cost and timeline
  • Develop and  implement business process practices aligned with strategic initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management standards
  • Act as a liaison and provide leadership for team and area of responsibility. Provide leadership, direction and coaching on project specific tasks as well as individual professional development.
  • Develop a budget and staffing plan to build a high performance, multi-functional team with expertise necessary to achieve development objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area required or a combination of education and progressively responsible work experience in related area may be substituted in lieu of degree on a year-for-year basis
  • +10 years’ IT experience required including:  
  • + 5 years’ experience coordinating and/or supporting IT business processes required
  • Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions required
  • Demonstrated experience in resource management and change management techniques required
  • +7 years Management, Team Lead, or other equivalent leadership experience
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Project required; intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
  • Project Management Professional certification or completion of another recognized project management certification preferred

Travel: up to 50%

Nights/Weekends: As needed
