The MLB Ballpark app and Ticketing platform are our flagship products to bring this vision to life.  

Major League Baseball is looking for an experienced Director of Product to lead the future of the MLB Ballpark app - the official mobile companion for fans attending games across all 30 clubs, and perennial #1 Sports app in both iOS and Android app stores. From digital ticketing and stadium access to mobile ordering, seat upgrades, and personalized fan experiences, the Ballpark app is at the center of how millions of fans engage with live baseball.

As Director of Product, you’ll define the vision and strategy for the Ballpark app, lead a team of product managers, and partner with engineering, design, and business leaders to deliver innovative features that delight fans and drive results for Clubs and MLB. You’ll play a key role in shaping the gameday experience of the future.

​​This role will focus on creating seamless, connected, and personalized experiences that inspire fans to attend more games, and return season after season. By connecting discovery, commerce, access, and engagement into one unified experience, the Director of Product will help position the Ballpark app as the foundation of MLB’s live fan experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision and roadmap for the Ballpark app, ensuring alignment with MLB’s digital strategy. Identify emerging opportunities for mobile engagement, digital ticketing, and in-venue innovation
  • Lead discovery and delivery of features that enhance ticketing, in-venue experiences, mobile commerce, and fan personalization
  • Define success metrics and use data, insights, and fan feedback to drive decisions
  • Partner with Clubs, internal stakeholders, and external partners to prioritize needs and deliver scalable solutions. Balance and resolve competing needs between Clubs, fans, and MLB corporate initiatives
  • Mentor and lead a team of product managers, fostering growth and collaboration.
  • Evangelize the Ballpark app strategy to internal MLB stakeholders, leadership, Clubs and industry partners 

Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years leading teams
  • Proven track record managing consumer-facing mobile products at scale
  • Strong acumen of digital ticketing, mobile payments, or fan engagement technologies.
  • Data-driven mindset with a passion for improving fan experiences
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • A love for sports, entertainment, and creating memorable fan experiences

Salary Range: $175,000 - $225,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
