What You’ll Be Doing

As a seasoned leader in Procurement technology, you will oversee, support, and optimize SaaS platform initiatives to ensure CIBC’s business goals are met. As the Director, Procurement Platforms Enablement, you will exercise independent judgment and provide leadership in business consulting, information architecture, and project delivery for a growing team. Your mandate includes developing and sustaining relationships across CIBC, negotiating and influencing opinion, and driving innovation in platform administration. You will provide sophisticated analysis of complex business information and make comprehensive recommendations to executives and business leaders. Team building and enablement are key responsibilities, as your team is expected to grow over the next few years.

You will be central to scaling advanced SaaS technologies, integrating platforms with enterprise systems, and ensuring operational excellence and compliance. How You’ll Succeed

  • Technical expertise - Deep understanding of cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Experience integrating SaaS platforms with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM). Expertise in SaaS security protocols, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2), and risk management. Skills in monitoring, tuning, and scaling SaaS applications for reliability and efficiency. Proficiency in managing and securing APIs for third-party integrations. Deep familiarity and proficiency with market leading S2P / Procurement applications and intake, workflow and orchestration tools such as Coupa, Zip, Ariba, etc.

  • Leadership and Strategy - Motivate, coach, and develop your team to ensure high performance and growth. Provide specialized counsel to staff in resolving complex issues and create a positive, inclusive workplace. Ability to align SaaS platform administration with organizational business goals. Skilled in leading platform migrations, upgrades, and adoption of new technologies. Experience negotiating contracts, managing relationships, and evaluating SaaS vendors. Ability to forecast, manage, and optimize SaaS spending.
  • Operational Excellence - Strong skills in responding to outages, troubleshooting issues, and implementing root cause analysis. Experience in provisioning, access control, and managing user roles across platforms. Ability to define, measure, and report on platform SLAs and KPIs.
  • Communication and Collaboration - Skilled at translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences and engaging with business leaders. Ability to work with IT, security, compliance, and business teams to ensure platform alignment. Experience developing training materials and programs for end users and administrators.
  • Continuous Improvement - Staying up-to-date with SaaS trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, especially in the Procurement, S2P and Third Party Management space. Identifying and implementing improvements to platform administration processes.

Who You Are

  • You are an experienced professional with 10–15+ years in SaaS platform administration, Procurement technology, or enterprise IT in global organizations. You have demonstrated success in leading platform operations, digital transformation, and technology adoption in highly regulated environments.
  • You are a bold and accountable leader with strong people management skills. You have experience developing and implementing strategic team goals, coaching employees, and driving successful team performance.
  • You have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, to drive transformational change initiatives.
  • You are an innovative and conceptual thinker with advanced analytical interpretation, problem solving abilities, and a strong ability to develop compelling vision to support strategic objectives.
