Rightwayhealthcare

Director, Pricing Innovation

Remote Full Time

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Rightway is reimagining how pharmacy benefits work, and pricing sits at the heart of that mission. We’re hiring a Director, Pricing Innovation to join the Cost of Goods & Underwriting team and lead the special projects that move our pricing capabilities beyond the day-to-day. This is a forward-looking role for someone who has lived inside PBM pricing long enough to know where the friction is, and who is energized by designing what comes next — new pricing models, AI-enabled tooling, and analytical frameworks that don’t yet exist at Rightway or anywhere else in the industry.

You will work directly with the VP, Cost of Goods & Underwriting on the team’s most ambitious initiatives. Expect a mix of strategic design work, hands-on modeling, and cross-functional leadership. The right person is equally comfortable whiteboarding a novel pricing construct with senior leadership, building a prototype model in Python, and influencing partners across Sales, Account Management, Finance, and Trade to bring new capabilities to market.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Design innovative pricing models that differentiate Rightway in the market, including alternative reimbursement constructs, transparent pricing frameworks, and risk-sharing arrangements with clients and channel partners.
  • Develop AI and machine learning models that support and scale pricing operations — including predictive tools for underwriting, automated guardrails, and decision-support systems that augment the pricing team.
  • Lead special projects on behalf of the VP, Cost of Goods & Underwriting, owning ambiguous, high-stakes initiatives from problem definition through implementation.
  • Build net-new analytical capabilities from scratch, including the data infrastructure, methodologies, and tooling needed to support them.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Account Management, Finance, Trade, Product, and Engineering to translate innovative pricing concepts into operational reality.
  • Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership, bringing an external perspective on industry trends, competitor moves, and emerging pricing methodologies.
  • Translate complex quantitative work into clear narratives and recommendations for executive audiences.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in pharmacy benefits, with deep exposure to PBM pricing, underwriting, network contracting, rebates, or trade economics.
  • Demonstrated track record of designing pricing models or commercial constructs that have been brought to market.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with hands-on experience building financial or pricing models. Experience with Python, SQL, and modern data tooling strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and applied experience — or a clear track record of partnering closely with data science teams to deploy models in production.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity, scope your own work, and drive initiatives forward without a defined playbook.
  • Excellent cross-functional influence and communication skills; comfortable presenting to and partnering with executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS in a quantitative field, PharmD) a plus.

BASE SALARY: $148,000-190,000

Offer amounts for both remote and in office roles are influenced by geographic location.

We believe that a spirit of open discourse is part of a healthy culture. We understand and appreciate different perspectives and we challenge our assumptions. 5) We seek to delight
Healthcare is complicated and personal. We work tirelessly to meet the goals of our clients while also delivering the best experience to our members. We recognize that no matter the role or team, we each play a crucial part in our members’ care and take that responsibility seriously. When faced with an obstacle, we are kind, respectful, and solution-oriented in our approach. We hold ourselves accountable to our clients and our members’ success.
