What You'll Be Doing
As Director, Premises & Business Continuity Management, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day management of business recovery plans and the planning process for Capital Markets Canada. You will oversee project management for Toronto premises and provide strategic leadership on premises-related matters across Capital Markets’ Canadian regional offices. In addition, you will guide and train team members, empowering them to achieve departmental goals and successfully deliver on key initiatives and projects. Your collaborative approach and expertise will help drive operational excellence and support the ongoing success of the organization.

How You'll Succeed
Premises Management & Workplace Support: You oversee day-to-day workplace operations for Toronto premises and provide support to regional offices across Canada. You manage renovation projects, partner with Corporate Services to optimize costs, and ensure minimal disruption to business activities. You conduct security access reviews, coordinate employee moves, and communicate key updates to ensure a smooth and secure workplace experience. As required, you will support the events department with tasks relating to CIBC Capital Markets events.
Business Continuity: You support the development and maintenance of business continuity plans for Capital Markets Canada, ensuring all key milestones are met. You collaborate with stakeholders to review dependencies, assess risks, and lead operational tests. You ensure plans are integrated, support management during disruptions, and actively participate in both local and bank-wide continuity initiatives.
Health & Safety Committee: You will lead and schedule regular Health & Safety meetings, document and share minutes, and conduct monthly workplace safety inspections. You’ll coordinate annual first aid and defibrillator training, maintain certification records, and support regional offices across Canada. You will escalate unresolved issues as needed, represent Capital Markets Canada on the Policy Committee, communicate key updates, and contribute to audits, projects, and initiatives. Your leadership fosters a culture of safety, collaboration, and employee engagement.
Who You Are
You have a post-secondary degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, operations, vendor management, or a related field, demonstrating adaptability and success in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
You have strong knowledge of basic accounting principles for budget reporting.
Your exceptional communication skills enable you to engage effectively with diverse lines of business and infrastructure groups. You excel at distilling complex information into clear, concise messages, ensuring team members receive only the most relevant details to drive seamless collaboration and successful execution across multiple stakeholders.
You excel at driving the strategic direction of the group by proactively identifying and capitalizing on emerging trends and opportunities. Your forward-thinking mindset allows you to anticipate needs and address challenges before they arise.
