About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and technically accomplished Director of Platform Engineering to lead the vision, design, and evolution of our internal developer platform that powers all cloud and infrastructure services.

As a senior technology leader, you will drive DevOps excellence, platform automation, and GenAI-enabled transformation to deliver scalable, secure, and intelligent platform capabilities. You will serve as the product owner for the developer platform, ensuring it evolves continuously to meet business needs, accelerate delivery, and enable innovation across all divisions.

This role combines strategic leadership with deep technical engagement—you will actively influence architecture, design standards, and technology choices to enable speed, reliability, and intelligent operations through a modern, AI-enhanced platform foundation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the platform engineering strategy and roadmap that delivers scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure services.
  • Lead DevOps transformation initiatives, advancing CI/CD maturity, self-service, and operational excellence.
  • Shape technical architecture and design patterns, ensuring alignment with platform standards and automation goals.
  • Own and evolve the developer platform as a product—capturing requirements, prioritizing capabilities, and delivering high-value improvements.
  • Drive GenAI and automation initiatives that enhance deployment intelligence, predictive operations, and developer productivity.
  • Oversee the continuous improvement of blueprints, IaC templates, and reusable automation frameworks across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to integrate platform strategy into enterprise technology priorities.
  • Collaborate with security, compliance, and FinOps teams to embed reliability, governance, and cost efficiency across all platform layers.
  • Define and track key metrics (velocity, uptime, adoption, satisfaction) to measure impact and guide platform evolution.
  • Maintain technical credibility through architecture reviews, design sessions, and mentoring senior engineers.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in Platform Engineering with proven leadership in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Kubernetes, and CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins).
  • Strong programming proficiency in Java, Python, or Go for automation, tooling, and platform services.
  • Solid experience with AWS (EKS, IAM, VPC, RDS, Lambda) and familiarity with Azure/GCP multi-cloud architectures.
  • Strong foundation in DevSecOps, observability, monitoring, and SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets).
  • Demonstrated experience in AI-driven automation, AIOps, or GenAI integration for platform or operational use cases.
  • Ability to bridge strategic planning with hands-on technical oversight and architectural decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with proven ability to align platform outcomes to business goals.
