What the is opportunity?
As the Director of Insurance Operations and Risk Transformation, you will be responsible for leading a diverse team including Finance Operations, Workforce Solution, BCP, Operation Resilience and Risk Transformation. You will be responsible for delivery of robust risk strategy and governance framework approach, that balances risk discipline with operational agility. You’ll partner closely with senior leaders across Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Technology to drive continuous improvement in risk identification, control effectiveness, and issue management processes to protect the integrity of our day-to-day operations. This role is accountable for designing and executing a multi-year transformation agenda that strengthens governance, enhances operational agility, embeds regulatory excellence, and drives sustainable cost and efficiency outcomes
What will you do?
•Drive large-scale change across Finance Operations, Workforce Solutions, and Shared Services, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and control maturity
•Recommend business priorities, advise on resource requirements, and develop roadmaps for strategic execution and automation
•Drive service level improvements and cost optimization while strengthening the control environment
•Support IFRS 17 transition from an operational readiness, governance, and control perspective
•Lead the design and execution of an integrated Operational Resilience framework across BCM, Third-Party Risk, IT Risk, Data Risk, and Crisis Management
•Align resilience strategy with enterprise risk appetite and regulatory expectations (OSFI E-21, B-13, E-10)
•Collaborate with Enterprise Risk Management to embed resilience into broader risk frameworks, including Risk Identification, Appetite, and Scenario Testing from design through to implementation
•Improve team performance, recognize and reward performance, coach employees, support their development, and manage poor performance
•Build interdependent teams that collaborate across functional and operating groups to create the highest value for all stakeholders
What will you need to succeed?
•University degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
•Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience operational risk, BCP, Operations Resiliency and/or transformation initiatives, regulatory frameworks (eg OSFI B-10, E-31, B-13) and third party risk methodologies
•Expert knowledge of the designated business / product portfolio
•Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration
•Able to manage ambiguity
•Data driven decision making

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$110,000.00 - $160,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location. If the posting lists multiple job locations, a recruiter can confirm availability of the role and the relevant pay rage for the additional locations listed.
