The Director, Operational Excellence is a senior site leadership role at Dexcom’s Mesa, AZ manufacturing and operations site and a core member of the site leadership team. Reporting to the U.S. Vice President of Operations and Manufacturing, with a strong dotted-line relationship to the Site Manufacturing Leader, this role is responsible for driving sustained operational performance by embedding the Dexcom Production System (DPS) into daily execution.
This leader owns the design, deployment, and sustainment of a robust site-level Operational Excellence and PMO capability, accountable for translating strategy into disciplined execution and measurable improvements across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Compliance. The role requires a strong on‑site presence and hands‑on leadership in a highly regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
The Director will lead a team of Operational Excellence and PMO professionals and serve as the site owner of Lean systems, performance management, and operating cadence. Success in this role depends on the ability to move beyond isolated improvement events to build durable capabilities, strong governance, and leader accountability at all levels of the organization.
The ideal candidate is an execution‑oriented change leader with deep experience leading site‑level Operational Excellence in regulated manufacturing environments. They bring strong Lean and CI expertise, financial discipline, and the credibility to influence plant and enterprise leaders—bridging vision and strategy with consistent, sustainable execution that delivers real business results and an exceptional end‑user experience for Dexcom’s CGM products.
