Workday HCM Director
As the Workday HCM Director for Silgan’s Business Technology Shared Services Team, you will own the enterprise Workday strategy, architecture, governance, and long-term roadmap across a multi-division, publicly traded manufacturing organization operating under a single tenant.
This role is ideal for a senior Workday visionary who thinks like an enterprise architect, operates comfortably at the executive level, and wants to own and mature a critical enterprise platform within a growing organization with multiple divisions that operate separately. Key to this role will be bringing the divisions together where possible for a harmonized operating model.

What You Will Do:
- Define and execute the enterprise Workday HCM strategy across multiple divisions operating under a shared services model
- Serve as the executive owner of the Workday tenant, ensuring scalability, performance, and long-term architectural integrity
- Drive governance across divisions to balance enterprise standardization with business unit flexibility
- Oversee advanced Workday integrations including Studio, EIB, Web Services, APIs, and Cloud Connect
- Drive enterprise data architecture strategy across HR, payroll, time systems, and finance integrations
- Establish and mature internal technical capability to reduce third-party dependency
- Own Workday security architecture, role-based access design, and audit compliance readiness
- Direct large-scale transformation initiatives including acquisitions, tenant consolidations, and module expansions
- Partner with executives to align Workday capabilities with organizational growth objectives
- Provide board-ready executive reporting on platform health, risk exposure, adoption metrics, and roadmap execution
- Mentor and build a high-performing enterprise Workday team as the function scales
What You Need To Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 10 or more years of progressive enterprise IT leadership experience
- 7 or more years of advanced Workday HCM leadership in large multi-entity or multi-division environments
- Demonstrated experience owning enterprise Workday architecture within complex organizations
- Deep technical expertise in Workday Studio, EIB, integrations architecture, APIs, Web Services, Calculated Fields, Report Writer, and Workday security configuration
- Proven success through acquisitions, large-scale deployments, or enterprise transformations
- Experience operating within publicly traded, regulated, or highly governed environments
- Ability to communicate complex architectural decisions to executive stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Workday Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect, or VP of HR Systems
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or highly distributed global enterprises
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale shared services governance models
- Experience executing Workday strategy within organizations exceeding 5,000 employees
