Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Technology to lead our technology initiatives, oversee the development and implementation of technological solutions, and drive innovation across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in software development, cloud computing, and database management, with a strong leadership background to mentor teams and align technology strategies with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the company's technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and growth plans.
Lead, mentor, and manage the technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Oversee the architecture, design, development, and deployment of software solutions, with a focus on .NET technologies.
Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our IT infrastructure and applications.
Manage cloud resources, primarily AWS, including architecture design, deployment, monitoring, and cost optimization.
Oversee database systems, ensuring high performance, security, and data integrity.
Evaluate and implement new technology trends to maintain a competitive edge.
Collaborate with executive leadership to identify technology needs, budget planning, and project prioritization.
Establish and enforce best practices for software development, system security, and data privacy.
Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee third-party technology providers.
Oversee disaster recovery and data backup strategies.
Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards related to technology and data security.
Provide technical guidance and support for critical projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in IT/Technology leadership roles.
Extensive hands-on experience with .NET frameworks and application development.
Strong understanding of database management systems (SQL Server, Oracle, or others).
Proven expertise in cloud architecture and services within AWS ecosystem (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.).
Demonstrated leadership in managing large, complex technology teams and projects.
Experience in enterprise architecture, software development lifecycle, and agile methodologies.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, data privacy regulations, and compliance requirements.
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar.
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of other programming languages and frameworks.
Familiarity with modern development tools and project management methodologies.
