JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Strategic Initiatives is a mission-driven leader responsible for designing and executing high-impact programs that advance the organization’s public sector engagement strategy. Reporting to the Vice President of State and Local Government Relations, this role leads cross-functional initiatives focused on workforce housing, pathways to homeownership, and community-based programs that strengthen partnerships and improve quality of life.
Lead Strategic Programs: Develop and implement initiatives addressing workforce housing, housing affordability, and homeownership transitions across multiple markets.
Community Engagement: Represent Progress Residential with HOAs, municipalities, nonprofits, and local organizations to build trust and strengthen program visibility.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to align housing operations with community needs and compliance requirements.
Data & Reporting: Oversee program metrics, risk assessments, and impact reporting; deliver executive-level briefings and strategic recommendations.
Partnership Development: Cultivate relationships with government agencies, nonprofits, and private sector partners to expand affordability and financial wellness programs.
Strategic Planning: Present staffing proposals, expansion plans, and scalability strategies to senior leadership.
Policy & Market Analysis: Monitor housing trends, demographic data, and policy developments to inform program design and growth.
Other Duties: Support organizational transformation and change management efforts related to government relations and community impact.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Political Science, or related field
7+ years in housing, real estate, or public policy with experience in community engagement and government relations.
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across an organization.
Strategic thinking with operational execution expertise.
Proficiency in data tracking and reporting tools.
Master’s degree preferred
