SUMMARY:
The Director of Security is responsible for U.S. Bank Stadium’s overall security operation, the direct oversight of security service partners and development of all security related reporting and deliverables. This position intentionally reviews, updates, trains and leads the security program for U.S. Bank Stadium. This leadership position requires the ability to work seamlessly and impactfully with all Legends Global departments, stadium partners and stadium vendors.

U.S. Bank Stadium, owned by the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, is a multi-purpose stadium located in the heart of Minneapolis, Minnesota. With over 66,000 seats, this state-of-the-art facility hosts a dynamic range of events, including the Minnesota Vikings, concerts, family shows, college and high school sporting events, conventions, trade and consumer shows, community events, corporate meetings, receptions, private celebrations, and guided tours. Since opening in July 2016, U.S. Bank Stadium has hosted 2,000 events with over 10.3 million guests.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following; other duties may be assigned.
Lead the development and implementation of integrated security strategies to ensure a safe, environment for all guests and staff.
Maintain and update stadium security policies and procedures and emergency response protocols for all event and non-event days at U.S. Bank Stadium
Serve as the main contact for and foster a strong working relationship with federal, state and city law enforcement agencies which provide support and staffing for stadium events
Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of security vendors, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Manage compliance with the SAFETY Act and all NFL best practices
Establish and customize event staffing levels to assure the highest level of customer service and appropriate level of security during major events
Conduct regular audits and review to work with internal service partners to provide best in class, safe environment
Coordinate and manage traffic and public transportation resources for the successful execution of events
Research, review and recommend equipment, materials and supplies required for efficient security operations
Provide major event estimates and manage financial reporting and approvals for security related vendors
Prepare annual department budget, project future needs and control expenditures
Prepare reports as required and needed by General Manager, the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority and Legends Global Corporate
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 24/7 Security vendor and team and Crowd Management vendor and team. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems; payroll and invoicing approvals.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from a four- year college or university in a related discipline
6-8 years Security leadership experience in an NFL Stadium or similar, large venue
3-5 years supervisory experience
Must possess current working knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of public facility security and safety programs; crowd management and control techniques; pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations. Prior management experience, including the ability to direct, train, motivate and evaluate security staff
Ability to discern security threats based on information received from law enforcement agencies
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Significant experience as a security professional knowledgeable in security procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
