About the location:

A secluded oasis at the edge of an idyllic lagoon! About the role

As Director of Sales, you will assist the Commercial Director and play a key role in positioning the newly enhanced resort within global luxury markets, driving strategic revenue growth, strengthening international partnerships, and leading a dynamic sales team in one of the most sought-after island destinations in the world.

What you will do

People Leadership

  • Train, mentor, and guide sales personnel on performance expectations, techniques, and reporting procedures.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities.

  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages high employee morale and productivity.

  • Identify and develop team members for future leadership opportunities.

  • Recommend salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions when appropriate.

  • Ensure proper training and development of all team members.

  • Assume responsibility for the Marketing Department in the absence of the Commercial Director.

Sales Strategy

  • Direct the overall sales strategy to achieve or exceed budgeted revenue goals.

  • Identify emerging business trends and adjust sales strategies to capture profitable demand during both high and low occupancy periods.

  • Lead the resort’s group and transient sales activities.

  • Negotiate contracts and secure business that maximizes revenue and profitability while meeting client expectations.

  • Maintain direct responsibility for key accounts and territories.

  • Achieve personal sales targets while leading by example within the sales team.

  • Ensure the sales team actively promotes all resort revenue streams including rooms, events, and ancillary services.

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients to generate repeat business and referrals within the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts global portfolio.

Marketing Strategy

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the annual Marketing Plan.

  • Ensure all sales initiatives are aligned with the strategic objectives of the resort.

  • Analyze market trends, client needs, occupancy forecasts, and pricing strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with Four Seasons Minimum Operating Standards for sales and marketing.

  • Utilize company marketing tools and resources effectively.

  • Monitor sales performance through analysis of booked versus consumed business.

Sales Management & Business Development

  • Collaborate with the Commercial Director to establish annual sales goals and incentive programs.

  • Monitor performance against targets and take corrective action when necessary.

  • Manage data related to room availability, rates, and function space.

  • Establish group room night and ADR targets aligned with the resort’s commercial strategy.

  • Ensure the appropriate mix between transient and group business.

  • Manage function space allocation for group and event bookings.

  • Support Sales Managers in resolving client issues and securing at-risk accounts.

  • Coordinate promotional activities including sales missions, trade shows, and special events.

  • Maintain awareness of competitors, new developments, and industry trends to maximize sales performance.

Internal Collaboration & Communication

  • Coordinate with operational departments to ensure seamless execution of confirmed business.

  • Maintain strong internal communication to support both guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

  • Participate in regular meetings to strengthen collaboration across departments.

Systems & Technology

  • Utilize and manage sales systems such as Delphi and other operational platforms.

  • Supervise the implementation and effective use of automated sales and reservation systems.

  • Ensure systems and procedures support the successful execution of sales programs.

Financial & Business Management

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual departmental budget.

  • Ensure the Sales department operates within established cost guidelines.

  • Maintain awareness of current and forecasted business performance.

  • Align sales strategies with the broader business objectives of the resort.

What you bring

- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the required language: English. French could be a plus.

- Bachelor or Master Degree in college/university degree (or equivalent).

- Previous experience as a DOS or Sales Manager in a Hotel or Resort

- Working knowledge of computer spreadsheets ( Excel), word processing (Word), and PowerPoint

Schedule & Hours:

full-time position based on a 45-hour work week, in accordance with the labour laws of Mauritius. Some international travel is expected to support sales activities, client meetings, and participation in industry events and trade shows.
