SUMMARY:

  The Director, Safety and Security is a senior safety and security executive within an RHH affiliate organization and accountable for all aspects of the applicable RRH affiliate’s security program, developing and directing the organization’s safety and security strategy, and overseeing implementation of the effort to minimize loss, enhance security, and create business opportunity through the control of risk.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Leads strategic safety and security planning by assessing organizational risk and implementing programs that reduce liability, promote business continuity, and ensure regulatory compliance across physical and personal risk areas.

• Oversees Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs for RRH affiliates, including safety systems, occupational health, environmental policies, hazard assessments, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Manages comprehensive security operations, including risk and vulnerability assessments, investigations, emergency preparedness, business continuity, executive protection, and fleet/parking management.

• Directs and develops security teams, drives implementation of advanced security technologies, and builds partnerships with law enforcement and intelligence agencies to ensure a proactive and responsive safety culture.

• Establishes system-wide policies and budget oversight for safety, security, and environmental compliance while promoting a strong safety culture aligned with corporate values and operational excellence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree required within 36 months of employment.

• Demonstration of continuing security management education or relevant professional security certification preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience appropriate for the knowledge and skills demanded by the position (e.g., armed forces security, military police, law enforcement, or private security).

• Minimum 5 years in leadership capacity.

• NYS Security Guard License within 90 days of hire.

• Valid NYS Driver’s License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:

$115,000.00 - $135,000.00Potsdam13676

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
