Director of Rehab Services, Sports Medicine & Disease Management

The Administrative Director of the Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine Service Line & Disease Management is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of Rehabilitation Services, Sports Medicine Services, Healthy Self Programs and Bariatric Services provided at Bon Secours St. Francis Health System.  The Administrative Director supervises all activities of Rehab Services & Sports Medicine & Healthy Self as a liaison between the Department and all other departments, the rehabilitation professions, the medical community and the community at large. The Administrative Director seeks to develop the business of the service line through collaborating with a wide variety of health care delivery entities.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assumes the overall responsibility for the Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine & Healthy Self programs and; in conjunction with the Medical Director(s) and Department Director(s), supervisors; plans, manages and coordinates, and evaluates programs and services related to rehabilitation, sports medicine, Healthy Self and Bariatrics promoting a team approach to the delivery of patient care provided by the Service Line.
  • Serves as a liaison between physicians, staff and hospital administration on the implementation and operation of the rehabilitation and sports medicine programs.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with physicians and other health care providers in order to address potential business opportunities
  • In cooperation with the Department Director, identifies resource requirements of Sports Medicine, Healthy Self & Rehab Services (including professional staff, support staff, space, equipment, etc.), sets overall standard for productivity, and evaluates effectiveness of resource utilization.
  • Implements an appropriate budget planning process, analyzes and approves the budgets submitted by the Department Director, and justifies these budgets to the Senior Administration.
  • Assumes accountability and responsibility for ongoing revenue and expense performance of the Sports Medicine, Healthy Self & Rehab Services Department, comparing actual performance to the approved budget and preparing and submitting monthly budget variance reports to Senior Administration.
  • Represents the Service Line in the hospital's administrative structure and assures that important information on hospital plans and activities is communicated to appropriate staff. Assumes responsibility for providing administrative coordination between the Sports Medicine, Healthy Self & Rehab Services Department and other departments of St. Francis Hospital.
  • Directs the strategic planning process for the service line. Researches, evaluates and designs new business opportunities for various aspects of the Sports Medicine, Healthy Self, Bariatrics & Rehab Service Line.  When applicable, creates proposals, business plans and financial analyses to support the creation of new products and services.
  • Collaborates with Marketing/public relations to develop marketing plan/materials for the service line.
  • Assures that the service line meets standards for accreditation and licensure.
  • Formulates long and short-term goals of the service line as well as strategies to achieve these goals.
  • Participates in QI activities and education as requested.

REQUIRED

1. Bachelors degree

2. Active license in state of practice for one of the following areas:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Physical Therapy
  • Physical Therapy Assistant
  • Speech Language Pathology
  • Athletic Training

3. Must have at least 3 to 5 years clinical experience, with at least two years at a supervisory level.

PREFERRED

1. Masters Degree in Healthcare of Business Administration

2. Doctorate

3. 7 years clinical experience in field of licensure

4. 5 years of leadership/management experience
