The Director of Quality is a senior leader responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining enterprise-wide quality systems that ensure compliance with HLAC, Hygienically Clean, OSHA, Joint Commission, and all applicable healthcare and textile processing standards.

This role partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Executive Leadership to drive continuous improvement, strengthen audit readiness, enhance infection prevention protocols, and protect Novo’s reputation as a trusted healthcare textile provider.

The Director of Quality will lead quality strategy across multiple facilities, ensuring consistent execution, measurable performance improvement, and alignment with Novo’s growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Quality Leadership

  • Develop and execute Novo’s enterprise-wide quality strategy aligned with healthcare regulatory standards.

  • Establish standardized quality policies, procedures, and KPIs across all facilities.

  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.

  • Serve as the executive quality leader during audits, client reviews, and accreditation processes.

Regulatory & Accreditation Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with HLAC, Hygienically Clean, OSHA, HIPAA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Maintain audit-ready facilities at all times.

  • Lead internal audits, mock inspections, and corrective action programs.

  • Partner with plant leadership to address non-conformances and mitigate risk.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Analyze quality data, process variation, customer complaints, and infection prevention metrics.

  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action initiatives (CAPA).

  • Drive standardization of wash chemistry validation, TRC testing, and infection control protocols.

  • Implement best practices across textile processing, finishing, and distribution functions.

Customer & Risk Management

  • Act as executive liaison for client quality concerns and service deviations.

  • Lead structured response plans for customer complaints, contamination events, or compliance issues.

  • Strengthen transparency and reporting mechanisms to protect client relationships.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build and develop quality teams at the plant level.

  • Train plant leadership and production teams on quality standards and compliance expectations.

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration between Operations, Maintenance, and Safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Microbiology, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 7–10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience in healthcare textile, industrial laundry, medical device, food processing, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Direct experience with HLAC, Hygienically Clean, or healthcare accreditation standards strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site quality systems.

  • Strong working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause methodologies.

  • Proven ability to lead audits, drive CAPA programs, and improve regulatory outcomes.

  • Strong executive communication skills and data-driven decision-making ability.
