The Director of Projects & Aftermarket Services – EMEA is a senior leadership role responsible for the successful execution, profitability, and customer satisfaction of all capital projects and aftermarket service activities across the EMEA region.
This role owns the end-to-end delivery lifecycle—from project handover and execution through installation, commissioning, service support, upgrades, and lifecycle services—while driving operational excellence, margin improvement, and a strong safety and quality culture.
What you will do:
Define and execute the EMEA Project and Aftermarket Services strategy aligned with wider enterprise objectives.
Own on-time, on-budget, and margin-positive execution of all regional projects.
Lead and grow the aftermarket services business including field services, spares, and service contracts.
Maintain full responsibility for projects and services in EMEA.
Act as executive sponsor for key and strategic customer accounts.
Build and develop a high-performing, geographically dispersed leadership team.
Champion safety, regulatory compliance, and quality excellence across all activities.
1. Strategic Leadership & Regional Ownership
Define and execute the EMEA Project and Aftermarket Services strategy, aligned with enterprise operational and commercial goals.
Translate regional growth plans into scalable delivery and service capabilities.
Act as the senior escalation point for critical customer, project, and service issues.
Contribute to EMEA leadership team decisions, strategy development, and long‑range planning.
2. Project Execution & Governance
Own on‑time, on‑budget, and margin‑positive execution of all projects across EMEA.
Establish and enforce project governance standards, stage‑gate controls, risk management, and reporting disciplines.
Ensure effective resource planning, capacity management, and project prioritization.
Lead resolution of complex execution challenges including scope changes, claims, and customer negotiations.
Drive continuous improvement in project predictability and delivery performance.
3. Aftermarket & Services Growth
Lead and grow the aftermarket services business, including field services, spares, service contracts, upgrades, retrofits, digital services, and lifecycle solutions.
Drive recurring revenue growth, contract penetration, and customer retention across EMEA.
Partner with Sales and Commercial teams to develop compelling aftermarket value propositions.
Ensure seamless transition from project delivery into long‑term service support.
4. Financial Performance & Operational Excellence
Full P&L responsibility for Projects and Aftermarket Services in EMEA.
Deliver revenue, margin, cash flow, and cost targets.
Drive productivity, utilization, and cost optimization initiatives.
Ensure robust forecasting, backlog management, and financial transparency.
Lead PMO and operational excellence initiatives (Lean, standardization, digital tools).
5. Customer Experience & Key Account Engagement
Act as an executive sponsor for strategic and key accounts.
Build trusted relationships with customer senior leadership.
Drive customer satisfaction, Net Promoter Score (NPS), and long‑term partnership models.
Support commercial negotiations for large, complex, or high‑risk deals.
6. People Leadership & Talent Development
Build, inspire, and retain a high‑performing, geographically dispersed team.
Develop succession plans, leadership capability, and technical expertise.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with regional labor laws and company HR policies.
7. Safety, Quality & Compliance
Champion a zero‑harm safety culture across all project and service activities.
Ensure compliance with EMEA regulatory standards, quality systems, and ethical requirements.
Drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for safety or quality incidents.
What we look for
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
15+ years of leadership experience in project delivery, services, or operations.
Proven experience managing multi-country EMEA organizations with P&L responsibility.
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of capital equipment or industrial services.
Fluent English required; additional European languages desirable.
