We are seeking an experienced Director of Product, MarTech & Personalization Platform to drive the strategic and technical vision for our core consumer data and activation ecosystem. This leadership role sits at the critical intersection of Product, Marketing, and Engineering, serving as the owner responsible for transforming Realtor.com®'s personalization capability from a fragmented, reactive system into an intentionally-architected, unified stack.
Your mandate is to establish the necessary Identity and Personalization Platform Foundations, enabling a real-time, data-driven, and scalable path toward hyper-personalized consumer experiences across the product and marketing, and maximizing the value of our anonymous and known users.
What you'll do:
This role will be the primary product owner responsible for the vision and execution of the Personalization Platform Foundation initiative.
- CDP Strategy & Implementation: Drive the full lifecycle of Customer Data Platform (CDP) readiness, including data source evaluation, vendor RFP and selection, and onboarding, leading to a decision on our future consolidated CDP.
- Platform Consolidation & Tech Debt Resolution: Evaluate current systems & services (internal + vendor) to inform a strategy to consolidate platforms and address technical debt.
- Identity Resolution: Partner with engineering to establish the Identity & Authentication foundation, ensuring a clear, unified user identity that fuels personalization across all surfaces.
- Architecture & Scalability: Oversee the design, engineering, and implementation of a scalable architecture, ensuring seamless data flow, system uptime, and integration between the core MarTech stack and downstream activation channels.
- CDP Operations & Segmentation Governance: Own the day-to-day workflow and operations in the CDP, and manage a team who operates day-to-day in the CDP to set up segments, audiences, and events for downstream channels and surfaces. Strategically manage the governance of this data in the CDP to ensure accurate and consistent use across the consumer organization.
How you'll collaborate:
You will be the key liaison for all personalization technology efforts, ensuring alignment across the Consumer Organization.
- Strategic Roadmapping: Define and execute the multi-year technical strategy for Personalization Tech, translating enterprise strategic planning into necessary platform requirements and effective business solutions.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the strategic partner to Marketing, Product Management, Data Science, and Engineering, owning business requirements and technical specifications to enable campaign execution and personalized consumer engagement.
- Drive Shared Capabilities: Champion the vision of personalization as a core capability, helping teams understand and adopt existing personalization capabilities and consulting on new business initiatives that influence the core MarTech stack.
- Personalization Leaders Forum (PLF): Serve as a core member and lead the formation of the PLF, providing effective consultation and direction on capabilities, tooling, and development to Product and Marketing teams.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and/or technologists, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence in platform delivery.
How we work:
We balance creativity and innovation on a foundation of in-person collaboration. For most roles, our employees work three or more days in our offices, where they have the opportunity to collaborate in-person, adding richness to our culture and knitting us closer together.
What you bring:
- Senior MarTech Experience: 12+ years of experience in MarTech, CRM, or a related field, with 5+ years proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing cross-functional technology and data initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Deep Platform Knowledge: Hands-on expertise with key Marketing platforms like CDPs, Marketing Automation (e.g., Braze, Cordial), and CRM, and how they integrate with data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake).
- Data & AI Foundations: Strong understanding of data models, segmentation, SQL, data workflows, and data pipelines. Experience with AI/ML applications for predictive insights, recommendations, and real-time decisioning is highly preferred.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to translate complex technical concepts and specifications to business stakeholders and a working knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript) and Tag Management Systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager). Prior hands-on engineering experience preferred.
