Overall management of the operations and administration of assigned projects with bottom line profit accountability.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Able to perform all essential Preconstruction/Estimating responsibilities
- Review and approve all estimates and schedules prepared for assigned negotiated projects and hard bid jobs.
- Facilitate job turnover process from estimating to project team.
- Supervise subcontract bidding and negotiations complying with Division procedures.
- Review contract terms and conditions and assist Operations Manager in contract negotiations. Ensure that “recap of contract highlights” has been prepared.
- Lead project planning, including conducting job start meetings and planning sessions with operations team.
- Lead and supervise preconstruction and estimating group and assign resources appropriately.
- Recruit, train, mentor and oversee supervision of preconstruction and estimating staff.
- Supervise the activities of project team to ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards and quality standards.
- Make periodic job visits and reviews and create alliance with Operations Manager.
- Detail tracking of pursuit costs to inform Division Manager of what it is costing to pursue bids and opportunities
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with trade partners, clients, CMs and architects/engineers
- Work with Business Development to develop new or renewed client relationships.
- Attend proposal presentations and assist in preparation of presentation materials (schedule, budgets, charts and graphs.)
- Assist Division Manager in other non-operating functions as required.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Thorough working knowledge and understanding of all project management control systems (business development, scheduling, cost control, procurement, and estimating)
- Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience
- Construction management experience (5+ years, including supervisory skills)
- Leadership ability
- Problem-solving ability and strong sense of urgency
- Organizational and communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior experience approving all subcontracts and major material purchase orders.
- Prior experience signing off on budget & fee
- Model-based estimating experience
- Experience with alternative delivery procurement and projects such as GCCM and progressive design-build
- 10+ years of construction management experience
