Job Description

Co-Ho (Content House) is the internal advertising agency/production studio inside the Personal Care division within P&G.  Co-Ho is seeking a Director of Photography to own the visual craft of social content for P&G's Beauty and Personal Care brands. This is about making products look irresistible on social platforms where attention spans are measured in milliseconds.

You'll be responsible for content capture in our studio: lighting, camera work, and delivering production-ready footage. You need the technical chops to operate everything from iPhones to professional cinema cameras, the eye to make personal care products look premium, and the social instincts to know what will stop the scroll on Instagram, TikTok, and Meta.

This is a studio role focused on product-based assets, influencer content, beauty application shots, and social-first storytelling. You'll create high-volume, high-quality footage that balances the craft of cinematography with the speed and format demands of social platforms, working closely with our editing and CG/VFX teams who handle post-production.

Reporting to the Head of Studio, you'll work closely with Creative Directors, the CG team, and brand partners to establish COHO's visual signature across social channels.

Three Core Areas of Responsibility

1. Social Content Production & Cinematography

  • Own the cinematography for all social content produced in COHO's studio
  • Light and shoot product-focused content optimized for social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Meta, Pinterest, YouTube Shorts)
  • Execute product hero shots, beauty application content, texture close-ups, and lifestyle moments that drive engagement
  • Create lighting setups that make personal care products look premium, aspirational, and thumb-stopping
  • Deliver production-ready footage to post-production teams for editing and finishing
  • Understand social platform specs, aspect ratios, and visual trends—and shoot accordingly
  • Move fast without sacrificing quality: set up, shoot, and deliver at the speed social demands

2. Influencer & Talent Content Direction

  • Lead cinematography for influencer content and talent-driven social assets
  • Direct beauty application shots: skincare routines, hair care tutorials, body care demos, product application
  • Create intimate, authentic visual content that feels native to social platforms, not overproduced or staged
  • Light and shoot talent in ways that make both the person and the product look beautiful
  • Collaborate with creators and talent to capture content that feels genuine while maintaining brand quality standards

3. Studio Lighting & Visual Systems

  • Design and manage lighting setups optimized for beauty and personal care products
  • Build repeatable lighting systems that can be quickly adapted for different products, formats, and campaign needs
  • Collaborate on tabletop virtual production setups as COHO expands into LED volume-based product shoots
  • Master the nuances of shooting translucent liquids, reflective packaging, product textures, and skin tones
  • Ensure visual consistency across content while allowing for creative variation
  • Maintain and organize studio equipment, lighting rigs, and camera packages
  • Stay ahead of visual trends on social platforms and evolve COHO's aesthetic accordingly

The Candidate Profile

  • The Social Cinematographer: You understand that beautiful cinematography has to work on a 9:16 phone screen. You think in social formats, not just frames.
  • Product Beauty Obsessed: You have a specific eye for making products look beautiful—aspirational product beauty that makes people want to buy. You know how to make a bottle glow, capture texture in a way that feels premium, and shoot product in motion that stops the scroll.
  • Technically Versatile: You're comfortable operating professional cinema cameras, DSLRs, gimbals, sliders, and building lighting setups from scratch. You know your gear inside and out.
  • Lighting Expert: You're a master with light—you understand how to shape it, diffuse it, bounce it, and use it to make products and people look their best. You know the difference between lighting a cream and lighting a solid stick product.
  • Social-Native: You follow the best visual creators on Instagram and TikTok. You study what's working. You understand pacing, composition, and the unspoken visual language of social platforms.
  • Fast & Efficient: You can move quickly without cutting corners. You set up fast, shoot efficiently, and deliver on tight timelines. You don't need a 12-hour day to get great content.
  • Collaborative Creator: You shoot with post-production in mind, delivering clean, well-organized footage that editors and VFX artists can work with seamlessly. You understand how your work fits into the larger content pipeline.
  • Product-First Mindset: Your passion is making products look beautiful for social platforms—that's the craft you care about and want to master.
  • Virtual Production Experience (Bonus): Experience with tabletop virtual production or LED volume workflows is a plus, but not required.

Why COHO? Why P&G?

You'll get the creative freedom of a startup with the resources and brand portfolio of P&G's Personal Care division. COHO gives you:

  • High-Impact Work: Your content will reach millions of people across some of the world's most recognized beauty and personal care brands
  • Creative Ownership: You'll have creative control over the visual direction of social content and the autonomy to build systems that work
  • Professional Studio: Access to a fully equipped studio with professional lighting, camera packages, and the budget to get the gear you need
  • Collaborative Environment: Work alongside talented editors and CG/VFX artists who will bring your footage to life in post-production
  • Volume & Variety: Shoot constantly across different products, formats, and creative challenges. One day it's a body wash launch, the next it's a influencer beauty tutorial.
  • Speed + Quality: Learn how to produce at volume without sacrificing craft—a skillset that will define the future of content creation
  • Brand Portfolio: Work across Secret, Olay, Gillette, Native, Ivory, Safeguard, Herbal Essences, and more
