JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Summary of the Job:
The Director of Patient Access provides strategic and operational leadership across all access functions within St. Tammany Health System. This includes centralized scheduling, prior authorization, financial counseling, patient estimates and financial assistance, registration, and insurance verification for both hospital and ambulatory settings. The Director collaborates closely with physicians, clinical leaders, and operational teams to advance access goals, improve efficiency, and enhance the patient experience.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health. At least 5 years in a leadership role with demonstrated collaboration across clinical and administrative teams.

Preferred Qualifications: EPIC proficiency in Prelude and Cadence. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in patient access or revenue cycle operations within a large, fast-paced healthcare organization. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health. Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR).

Physical Demands:      

Must possess good physical health.  Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.  Lifting at least 10 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Constant (67%-100%) – talking, hearing, seeing

Frequently (34%-66%) – NONE

Occasionally (1%-33%) – lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling/feeling.
