You will be aligned to the Wenger Division within JBT Marel.
 

You will be responsible for managing manufacturing operations across 4 production facilities – 3 in North East Kansas - Sabetha, KS and one in Galena, KS. The Director of Operations will spend time at each of these facilities.
 

You will report to the General Manager in this role.
 

Your direct reports will include managers of Supply chain, manufacturing operations, engineering, quality, continuous improvement, and safety.
 

On a given day, you may:

  • Manage performance through the development of short and long-term operating goals. Set standards for safety, continuous improvement, quality, cost reduction, and production efficiency.
  • Review and maintain financial performance.
  • Develop and mentor the leadership team.
  • Promote a positive culture of employee recognition and career advancement.
  • Maintain a site that is an employer of choice in the area.
  • Ensure a progressive workforce.
  • Encourage autonomy and promote our core values
  • Focus on the customer and on improvements based that ensure timely delivery, quality, cost, service, and responsiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Create efficiencies within operations between the 4 sites, reducing redundancy, improve capacity of machines.
  • Review manpower hours, resources, and determine capital improvements.
  • Build relationships and instill trust within our employees.
     

Requirements for the role

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Education or experience in Finance, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations
  • 10+ years of increasingly responsible working within a machine and fabrication manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a leader in operations managing a team
  • Experience developing Lean practices and measurable action plans for manufacturing improvements
  • Experience leading supply chain and planning
  • Experience applying Lean Methodology principles
  • Must have a collaborative management style which builds a teamwork culture.
  • Experience understanding financial principles for operations, including firm understanding of cost, inventory, and P&L.
  • Background in industry standard safety processes.
  • Experience with multi-site leadership within an engineered production manufacturing environment

Travel & Location

  • Travel of up to 20% required to attend business meetings and visit sites within the region
  • This role is onsite 100% between the 4 sites in KS
  • This is not a hybrid role
