Legends Global, a leader is venue management and entertainment world wide. There is has an immediate opening for a Director of Operations, for Food and Beverage in our Hospitality Division at Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco. This role is responsible for leading the operations team and motivating both union and non-union staff to deliver exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include overseeing efficient food and beverage operations while maintaining high standards of production, productivity, quality, and guest satisfaction.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and experience managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. This individual is expected to lead by example and support staff during busy, fast-paced event environments. Ultimately, this position ensures that events run smoothly and that guests have a positive and memorable experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor and manage the department budget by implementing effective controls over food, beverage, and labor costs.
Identify opportunities to increase profitability and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation, and driving operational improvements.
Lead major events and oversee employees including managers, supervisors, and both union and non-union staff.
Maintain and deliver exceptional levels of internal and external customer service.
Maintain a strong presence on the floor during events to oversee execution and service delivery.
Work closely with clients before and during events to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
Collaborate with department leaders including Culinary, Sales, and Operations to strategically plan future events, develop new relationships, and create unique service offerings.
Provide support and operational analysis to the General Manager regarding costs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement during major events.
Oversee the overall Food & Beverage operation, including developing marketing ideas to promote business, reducing employee turnover, maintaining revenue and payroll budgets, and ensuring productivity goals are met while maintaining consistent quality.
Lead staffing, training, and planning of all Food & Beverage activities to ensure efficient and effective department operations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in a senior food and beverage management role.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to calculate amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to execute instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to solve problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with POS systems preferred
Other Qualifications
Prior hotel or convention center experience preferred
Familiarity with union environments and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA)

Compensation
$110,000 – $120,000 annually
Plus eligibility for a 10% bonus
