JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of the Office of Communication, Marketing and Events establishes, directs, and manages the strategy for communications, website development, marketing, public relations, messaging, and collateral to successfully promote the strategic initiatives of the college through traditional and new media channels. Reports to the Dean and works closely with the leadership team of the college. Serves on the college's Core Executive Committee and works as a communications partner to promote the college and all of the departments, centers, and institutes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
30% - Marketing/Communication- Develop and execute the college-level marketing/communication initiatives including, marketing collateral, press releases, website content, etc. Oversee the execution of the unit-level communication and marketing activities.
20% - Strategy- Develop, implement, and evaluate an annual marketing/communications plan for the college that aligns with the dean's strategic vision and goals. Oversee the development and execution of communications plans for each of the college's internal units. Create systems for evaluating the effectiveness of OCME programs and initiatives. Promote engagement among students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders. Implement strategies for improving the E.J. Ourso College's brand.
20% - Website- Develop a strategic plan for the college's website that ensures a modern and user-friendly experience that effectively communicates the college's core messages and value proposition. Work with a webmaster or LSU ITS to ensure the proper development and maintenance of the site. Evaluate and approve website update submissions.
10% - DAC- Serve as the Dean's Advisory Council administrator, including membership management/maintenance, elections, and review, council communications, and office management. Plan and execute DAC meetings.
10% - Management- Manage the OCME team staff and ensure quality, strategic, and timely creation of marketing and communication resources. Develop and implement policies and procedures that support and streamline the OCME team's workflow and daily operations.
5% - Events- Plan, execute and evaluate college-level events. Oversee the execution of the unit-level events. Provide resources and expertise for events that are not to be directly managed by OCME team. Evaluate yearly events hosted by the college, make recommendations for improvements, and, when appropriate
5% - Finance- Develop and manage the annual OCME department budget for LSU and LSU Foundation accounts. Reconcile credit card statements and process vendor invoices for payment. Annually analyze department finances and make recommendations for new initiatives or cost-saving opportunities based on spending effectiveness and return on investment. Works collaboratively with the Office of Communications and University Relations and adheres to the standards set by the division. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's degree
Years of Experience: 7+ years of experience
Specific Experience: Event planning, project management, marketing and/or public relations, supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Master's degree
Years of Experience: 8-10 years of administrative experience
Specific Experience: Leadership role within a business college

This position is considered operational essential and may be asked to work during an official closure but is otherwise not required to report to the physical campus during a closure and whose absence does not present a risk to the safety, resources, and well-being of the campus per FASOP HR-01.
