Position Summary:
Provide leadership, vision, planning and advocacy for medical library, patient education, leisure reading, and library services to rural hospitals. Align library services with strategic direction of Rochester Regional Health.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement library services including reference, interlibrary loan, document provision, liaison program, publishing support, nursing support, residency and educational program support, rural library services, patient education and leisure reading for patients.
• Direct library operations: manage facility, collections and equipment
• Lead the library's financial planning processes: prepare annual budgets, monitor expenditures, and negotiate e-resource pricing.
• Identify, pursue and manage funding opportunities and consortia pricing.
• Manage the library’s gift funds and recommend expenditures within fund guidelines
• Recruit, train and manage Librarians and Library Assistants
• Manage all aspects of knowledge-based information resources: selection, testing, negotiation, licensing, access, promotion, instruction, and monitor use
• Facilitate services to rural hospitals through the NYS Department of Education funded Hospital Library Services Program. Write contracts and service plans, manage Circuit Librarians, distribute invoices and collect payment.
• Manage the library’s website, proxy server and discovery tools.
• Oversee collection development and facilitate access to electronic resources.
• Write and implement policies and procedures
• Collect, store and utilize data to demonstrate use of library services and resources and plan for future services and resource needs
• Participate in Rochester Regional Health leadership programs and initiatives
• Represent the library to key stakeholders
• Maintain cutting edge services through professional development and involvement in local and national library organizations
Minimum Qualifications:
•MLS, MSLS, or equivalent degree in Library Science or Information Science from an accredited program required.
AHIP credentialing preferred.
•5+ years of previous Library work experience required
experience with computer networking, database searching, and budgeting.
•Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
