Under the guidance of the Sr Director of Sales and Marketing - Bone Growth Therapies, and in accordance with corporate directives, the Director, Marketing is responsible for formulating and executing upstream and downstream marketing/business plans for Orthofix Bone Growth Therapies. The role will manage the activities of the upstream/downstream product management group as required. The role will require the management of relationships within a cross functional team environment.

Strategy development and execution in conjunction with the Sr Director of Sales and Marketing
Assist with recruiting, hiring, and management of direct report Product Managers and/or Associate Product Managers.
Management of product limited market release schedules including all materials.
Development of good working relationships with cross-functional teams and clinical customers.
Development and implementation of product training and development programs including associated presentation and product support materials.
Coordinate clinical design and panel meetings, team meetings, intra-operative surgical evaluations, marketing collateral materials, and product surveillance.
Product launch, forecasting and inventory management in conjunction with corporate operations.
Represent the product group and company at relevant national and international clinical congresses.
Manage new product development marketing activities including; new idea review and recommendations, Needs Assessment development, voice of customer, concept and design development, technique development, project management and market introduction.
Manage new product line development including; recommendations for line extension and / or line cannibalization / obsolescence planning, forecasting, pricing strategies, literature / video / sales support materials, manufacturing support and customer service/operations support.
Identify market trends, competitive activities and business opportunities and focus on product lines/ company maximizing and optimizing performance to meet or exceed operating objectives through the effective development and presentation of strategic, market and product development plans.
Be the voice of the customer to the internal organization by developing relevant user needs and claims that reflect the clinical and business goals.
Ensure that product lines/group is in a position of clinical and technical leadership and differentiation relative to the competition through extensive field visits with key surgeons and sales consultants, regular review of the literature, participation at important/relevant society and company- sponsored meetings and conferences and develop strong relationships with key existing and competitive surgeon customers.
Provide high-quality sales support in terms of new product/market introductions, sales training programs, key surgeon/account field visits, and regular communication, both responsive, as well as proactive.
Maintain key relationships in order to stay “on the pulse” of new market opportunities.
Routinely interface with the managers/directors of other product lines offered by the company in order to understand the relationship between the products for which he/she has responsibility and the other products in the company’s portfolio.
Plan, lead and/or assist in assembling and maintaining relevant advisory boards and focus groups to garner market insights and collect feedback.
Organize and plan and prototype evaluation labs as needed to support product development.
Maintain up-to-date competitive information, (products, regulatory status, promotion, prices, etc.).
Attend surgeries to maintain a working knowledge of surgical procedure trends and techniques.
Work with a cross-functional team to ensure that products are properly positioned in the market utilizing creative promotional, pricing, economic, service, and product characteristic strategies to maximize sales and profits. Coordinate activities between marketing and other functional areas to ensure product line objectives are achieved on a timely basis.
Participate in sales and marketing planning activities for assigned product lines with field sales force, sales management, and senior management in order to identify key target surgeons and hospitals by product line.

What skills and experience will you need?
Bachelor’s Degree (Business major preferred) or relevant work experience
10 years experience in a product management role with documented success in “upstream” and “downstream” marketing activities
Minimum of 5 years experience in medical device sales preferred
Working knowledge of spinal and / or orthopedic anatomy
Computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent communication skills – spoken and written
Superlative time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Lead and manage a team of Product Managers.
Set clear goals, oversee performance, and provide regular coaching and feedback.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of team members.
Prioritize and delegate projects to align with strategic marketing objectives.
Foster collaboration across departments and ensure high-quality execution of marketing initiatives.
