This is a fully remote work-from-home position. We are open to candidates that live in the New York Metro Area, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

SET THE COURSE

Collaborate and drive development for each licensee for which you are responsible. Ensure that action items are accomplished on a timely basis and profitability is being maximized. 

Maintain estimates & financial tracking of the licensing budget. Oversee the Licensing Designer, ensure the design process is being adhered to. Coordinate and review all licensing data to facilitate communications on approvals for both marketing initiatives as well as product. Audit and manage contract compliance issues on a project-by-project basis. Look for white space, new products and category opportunities that are both brand-appropriate and that deliver bottom line growth.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE

Licensing – Business

  • Cultivate long-term relationships with all licensees while driving business development across new and existing categories.
  • Utilize trade and industry sources to research and to locate the information to procure the most qualified licensee candidates.
  • Collect and analyze selling information from licensees for identification of opportunities, understanding trends for next season product development
  • Responsible for the Home & Accessories Product Manager.
  • Ensure licensees follow the Tommy Bahama Design Process.
  • Recommend next steps on projects based on an understanding of each licensee’s industry and products, business model, and priorities to drive revenue opportunities to meet sales goals.
    • Attend Market Appointments
    • Student of the Market – Understanding all distribution channels (outside of TB), competition, launches, evaluating retail landscape
    • Ensure compliance of all licensed agreements which fall within the category of business.
    • Understand competitors pricing structure & marketing initiatives.
  • Partner with finance on annual planning and budget management. Oversee monthly revenue forecasting and quarterly analysis for sales. Manage multi-million-dollar royalty budget and report earnings to key stakeholders. This includes the following:
  • Budgeting:
    • Projections for Fiscal Year
    • Quarterly Reports + Payments
    • Monthly Sales Trends + Trending Royalties
  • Work closely with marketing partner to leverage cross-functional teams for opportunities for strategic growth for all licensed categories (including promotional opportunities, digital placements, in store marketing materials etc.). 
    • Ecommerce, Marketing, Visual, Merchandising, Design, Retail Operations, Restaurant Group
  • Strategize with marketing, product development, and the Licensee on the go to market plans.
    • Merchandise lines with the licensee to ensure the right product mix/costing structure is presented at Retail.
    • Attend review meetings with Design & Licensees to monitor merchandising needs.
    • Develop an understanding of the manufacturing process – understand how the product is made: e.g. lead-times, minimums, country of origin
  • Manage legal contract process and management – partner with legal for execution

  • Identify and research new categories that expand the Tommy Bahama lifestyle while adding bottom line growth to the division.
  • Utilize trade & industry sources to research the best partners.

ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE

  • Generally, 15 or more years of licensing/business development/merchandising experience desired. 
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient organization skills.
  • Proficient software skills utilizing the following software:  PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Photoshop.
  • Motivated self-starter; able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Understands and demonstrates confidentiality.
  • Able to multi-task projects and manage time effectively.
  • Proficient math skills.
  • Team Player
  • Presentation, problem solving and negotiation experience
  • Familiarity with licensing procedures and product development.
  • Secure and private area to work uninterrupted during shift hours and available to communicate throughout entire shift (excluding meal period and breaks). 

Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.

Rate Range: $144,500.00 to $175,000.00 USD Annually
