What you will do

Johnson Controls is seeking a dynamic and technically experienced Director of Integrations to lead our third-party integration efforts across the Highspan solution — our unified cloud-native platform for Access Control, Video Management, and Security Analytics. This individual will be responsible for leading a global team of engineers and architects focused on delivering secure, scalable, and certified integrations with external partners, devices, and enterprise platforms (e.g., identity providers, camera systems, VMS, access hardware, PSIMs, cloud services). The role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a deep understanding of API platforms, standards like ONVIF/OSDP, and partner enablement models. This is a hybrid position. Candidates must be commuting distance to Westford, MA, or able to relocate.

How you will do it

  • Lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for 3rd-party integrations across the Highspan ecosystem — including video analytics, access control devices, identity management, and cloud enterprise platforms.
  • Manage and grow a team of partner integration engineers, API developers, QA leads, and technical writers responsible for building, validating, and documenting integrations.
  • Collaborate with product management, platform engineering, and alliances teams to prioritize integrations based on customer demand, regulatory needs, and strategic partnerships.
  • Oversee the design and evolution of the OSP SDKs, APIs, plug-in frameworks, and onboarding toolkits used by external developers and partners.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security, performance, and interoperability standards (e.g., ONVIF, OSDP, FIPS, NDAA, GDPR).
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive partner certification program, encompassing documentation, test suites, and technical support models.
  • Represent the integrations team in cross-functional engineering reviews, product strategy discussions, and go-to-market readiness.
  • Identify reusable integration patterns and lead the development of shared adapters or connectors for common use cases.
  • Own quality and supportability of integrations in production environments, working closely with support and field teams.

What you will need
Required

  • 10+ years in software engineering or systems integration, with 4+ years in a technical leadership or director-level role
  • Proven experience leading integration teams in an enterprise SaaS or platform environment
  • Deep technical knowledge of RESTful APIs, Webhooks, message queues, and plug-in architectures
  • Familiarity with physical security, access control systems, video surveillance (VMS), or IoT device ecosystems
  • Strong experience with partner and developer enablement — SDKs, sandbox environments, sample code, and technical documentation
  • Track record of delivering scalable, secure, and tested integrations with 3rd-party platforms
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across engineering, product, and external partners
  • Able to travel 5-10%.

Preferred

  • Experience with standards such as ONVIF, OSDP, SAML, OAuth2, or SIA protocols
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT environments (e.g., LDAP, Azure AD, SCIM, PSIMs)
  • Exposure to video analytics, access control hardware, or edge devices
  • Strong understanding of platform reliability, observability, and integration lifecycle management
  • Experience with partner programs or marketplace ecosystems
