Join Sky’s Content, Broadcast & Platforms team (CBP) to lead architecture of the services and platform that power Europe’s leading media and entertainment brand. This newly created role is defined to unify architecture teams across live production, origination, distribution and our non-linear content supply chain into one team. A workplace where you can proudly be yourself; our people make Sky a truly exciting and inclusive place to work.
Overview
Content, Technology & Innovation (CT&I) is part of Comcast and Sky’s Global Product Hub, responsible for delivering Sky content and services to customers everywhere via reliable, scalable, and innovative platforms. You will own the architectural vision, principles, and design standards that govern CT&I’s technology ecosystem—ensuring every product and system is built on a consistent, secure, and future‑proof foundation.
Reporting to the Group Director of Content, Broadcast and Platforms, this is a senior technology architecture leadership role with accountability across all Sky markets. You will define the target architecture and investment priorities, lead governance forums, approve architectural exceptions, and sponsor system lifecycle decisions, including end-of-life. This role shapes multi-million-pound technology spend and risk, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. You will lead and inspire a distributed team of 50+ architects and solution designers across the UK, DACH, and Italy, embedding robust standards, reusable reference patterns, and delivering a unified architectural roadmap that spans platforms, data, integration, and security—enabling Sky’s content and broadcast innovation at scale.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end architecture underpinning services within Content, Broadcast & Platforms for our key stakeholders Sky Sports, Sky News, Sky Studios, Sky Creative, Global Product, and our broader content ecosystem including live production, rights, planning & scheduling, media management, origination, video-on-demand (VOD) and distribution. By consolidating ownership of architecture, you will accelerate delivery, improve quality, reduce risk, and drive cost efficiency through reuse and rationalisation.
The Role
You will define what should be built in full alignment with Director of CBP Planning & Delivery. You will ensure all teams embed security by design and ensure architectural alignment across services and platforms. You will lead the creation of a unified architectural strategy that consolidates dispersed teams, establishes clear governance, and drives consistency across platforms, data, integration, and security. This role will influence critical buy/build decisions, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness while shaping the roadmaps of our primary News, Sports, Entertainment, and Product customers.
You will work in close partnership with Strategy & Delivery, Platforms, and Engineering to ensure that architectural recommendations are not only designed but implemented effectively. Acting as a key collaborator with the CT&I innovation team, you will identify emerging technologies, sponsor experiments, and take ownership of integrating successful innovations into the wider technology stack. This is a mission-critical role that transforms architecture from an advisory function into a proactive force for innovation, accountability, and execution—creating a future-fit content delivery capability at Group scale.
