Our Tranquilo Golf Course is renowned among Orlando golf courses for its serene landscapes and challenging play. Unique in Central Florida for its varying elevations, abundant wildlife and protected wetlands, this picturesque course is a Certified Audubon Sanctuary, offering an incomparable golf experience where you can connect with nature and truly escape. The Tom Fazio-designed 18-hole course is a par-71, with 6,901 yards and four sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

Who We Look For: 

The position of Director of Golf & Resort Landscape Operations will play a key role in the success of our resort/private membership at the club.

This role centers on delivering strong operational results that support the club’s overall strategy and membership growth goals. Because golf environments change rapidly, the position demands creativity, quick problem‑solving, and timely decision‑making to ensure smooth daily operations. A key responsibility is maintaining consistently high course playability year‑round by coordinating closely with maintenance teams, anticipating seasonal challenges, and implementing proactive turf and grounds strategies that elevate the member experience.

While the role requires independent action and a strong sense of urgency, it also demands a commitment to operational excellence, course quality, and delivering exceptional golf experiences that attract new members and increase member satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy
  • Must have or the ability to obtain State of Florida Pesticide Applicator License
  • Thorough understanding of business principles, financial accountability, agronomy practices
  • CGCS preferred
  • Seasoned experience in resort landscape operations and a private golf membership
  • Proven effective planning and communication
  • Must have a TEAM mentality. The right candidate must have the willingness to grow and learn as well as having a desire to advance their career in the turf grass industry.
  • Must be self-motivated, lead by example, and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, and efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure.
  • This position will be directly involved with creating and adapting the daily work schedule on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Aptitude for administrative and executive responsibilities including effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Supervises and participates in fertilizer and pesticide applications. Must know how to operate and calibrate fertilizer and pesticide equipment. Maintain application sheets and documents for inventory control.
  • Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with county, state, and federal regulations and is responsible for the safety and direction of chemical handlers and/or helpers.
  • Will assist with managing both payroll and operating budget.
  • Work with Golf Operations staff to coordinate tournaments, weather related closures, and special requests.
  • Hire, train, and supervise maintenance staff.
  • Oversee the seeding, fertilizing, topdressing, soil conditioning, watering and pest and weed control of the golf course and practice facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, OSHA rules and regulations, relating to chemical and fertilizer storage and disposal, employee safety, public safety.
  • Two or four-year degree in Turfgrass Management or completion of Turf Management related certificate program preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Pesticide applicators license.
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Golf Course Superintendent or Director of Golf Course Landscape Operations or Equivalent

A successful candidate will have a flexible schedule, ability to work weekends and holidays. Must be fluent in English and possess legal work authorization in the United States.
