JOB DESCRIPTION
USC Athletics is looking to hire a Director of Football Equipment Operations to join our staff and student community of 600+ individuals. This role is responsible for providing leadership and execution of services for football student-athletes and associated staff. Additional duties include assisting in taking inventory, fitting, ordering, receiving, and distribution of athletic equipment.
Reporting directly to the Associate Athletic Director of Equipment Operations, the Director of Football Operations will possess strong leadership skills, demonstrate the ability to take initiative and to implement policies and processes, and have strong organizational and communication capabilities. Knowledge of and experience working in higher education preferred. Understanding of the unique culture and needs of college athletes preferred.

This is an exempt position with work expected during early morning hours, evening hours, weekends, holidays, etc.
Roles and responsibilities:
Provides services for USC Football to support student-athletes, coaches, and support staff.
Oversight of inventory management for football equipment. Assist with football equipment inventory records and reports.
Assists in ordering of specialized equipment (and related materials).
Maintains equipment and related materials, including cleaning, servicing, and life cycle replacement.
Conducts and supervises proper fitting of protective equipment.
Works collaboratively with support staff in Athletics to support student-athlete safety.
Repairs equipment or coordinates repairs with outside vendors.
Keeps current inventory records of equipment and materials in stock and on order. Complies with all applicable rules and regulations regarding maintenance and use of specialized equipment.
Proficient in inventory data base management and production of frequent reports.
Provides internal and external communication related to football equipment with all necessary parties.
Coordinates utilization of staff and department resources to support football-specific needs.
Provides review and development of football equipment staff.
Develops and manages budget to support football equipment needs and equipment department needs as related to football.
Plans and executes annual apparel and uniform orders for football.
Develops and maintains relationships with important equipment and apparel vendors.
Coordinates schedules and manages head count to support football-specific services.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum education level of a bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years of experience (5 years preferred) working in a college or professional equipment room.
Certified Athletic Equipment Manager (or able to receive AEMA certification within 1 year).
Valid driver's license required. Position will participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Notice System. A copy of DMV record will be required as a final condition of employment. For more information, please visit the policy website.
Experience working in higher education and/or a sports related field ideal.
Ability to adjust to unique situations and scenarios often associated with sporting events.
Demonstrated organization and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate with university employees, vendors, and student-athletes.
Ability to prioritize tasks properly as they present themselves and be proactive to address concerns as or before they arise.
Working knowledge of proper general accounting, procurement, and receiving principles and procedures.
Understanding of, and experience with, proper record keeping practices (e.g., inventory maintenance).
Ability to properly fit equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and the guidelines in place by the NCAA, AEMA, and other governing bodies.
Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and apparel maintenance and repair techniques in accordance to manufacturer specifications and the NCAA.
Salary Range
The annual base salary range for this position is $90,000-$110,000.
