We're looking for a Director of Enterprise AI to scale our enterprise AI acceleration program from a small founding team into a full delivery, platform, and enablement organization. You'll lead applied AI transformation across every major business function - serving 600+ engineers and 2,000+ employees at one of the largest real estate technology platforms in the U.S.
This isn't a greenfield experiment. The model is validated: production agentic workflows are delivering up to 80% effort reduction, a backlog of project submissions spans every business unit, and three AI Solutions Engineers are already shipping. The challenge is turning early traction into a repeatable, scalable engine that delivers on our executive mandate for transformational AI-driven outcomes.
Top Reasons to Apply:
- Lead a Top Company Priority: The Executive Leadership Team (ELT) has made enterprise AI transformation a top company priority and is investing a multi-million-dollar annual budget to back it. You will serve as the primary strategic partner to leaders in Revenue, Marketing, HR, and Finance, with the visibility and authority to drive true organizational change.
- Impact a Massive Technological Ecosystem: Your leadership will directly influence the productivity and tooling of over 600 engineers and 2,000 total employees at one of the largest real estate platforms in the country. By standing up centralized AI infrastructure and governance, you will touch every corner of a large-scale digital marketplace.
- Build and Lead an Elite Engineering Team: You will have the autonomy to recruit, develop, and retain a team of 15–18 specialists, including AI Solutions Engineers and Platform Infrastructure experts. As a tech evangelist, you will shape the careers of this new organization while establishing yourself as a key leader in the fast-emerging discipline of applied AI.
What You'll Do
- Build and lead the organization. Scale the team from ~4 to ~15–18 people across three functions: AI Solutions Engineering (domain-aligned delivery pods serving Revenue, Marketing, Consumer, Corporate, and executive leadership), AI Platform & Infrastructure (LLM gateway, orchestration, governance, developer AI tooling), and AI Enablement & Programs. Recruit, develop, and retain top talent in a fast-emerging discipline.
- Drive delivery at scale. Own the end-to-end lifecycle for AI projects - from workshop-driven intake through build, handoff, support, and post-deployment measurement. Manage a portfolio of concurrent agentic workflow builds across business domains with established sprint cadences, capacity planning, and a clear ownership model where requesting teams maintain production systems after handoff.
- Stand up the AI platform. Build the infrastructure layer that makes delivery scalable and governed: centralized LLM gateway and model routing, orchestration platform hardening, credential management and audit logging across dozens of cloud accounts, AI tool governance (acceptable use policy, default-block enforcement, shadow AI mitigation), and the technical roadmap for our internal AI developer tooling.
- Scale enablement and adoption. Grow the program that initiated our current backlog, operationalize an AI champions network across business units, expand AI training curricula beyond three foundational courses with 650+ completions, and own executive-facing reporting and communications including monthly tech reviews and steering committee updates.
- Partner across the business. Serve as the primary enterprise AI partner to leaders in Revenue, Marketing, Consumer, HR, Finance, Legal, and Corporate Communications. Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Operations, and Security on shared infrastructure and compliance. Manage strategic vendor relationships across LLM providers and AI SaaS platforms. Present validated ROI and strategy to C-suite leadership.
- Own the budget. Manage a multi-million-dollar annual AI tooling portfolio with growth projected as adoption scales. Build business cases grounded in pre/post-implementation measurement, drive cost optimization across consumption-based pricing models, and demonstrate ROI through hours saved, FTEs avoided, and cycle-time reduction.
Who You Are
You're a builder-operator who has scaled an internal AI, ML, or automation practice from early traction to organizational maturity. You understand that enterprise AI transformation requires earning trust with business leaders, delivering measurable outcomes fast enough to maintain momentum, and building platforms and processes that make the 50th solution as efficient as the 5th.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years in engineering, AI/ML, or technology leadership with experience building and shipping AI-powered products or internal platforms
- 5+ years leading technical teams, with proven ability to scale organizations from 5 to 20+ people
- Deep applied AI/ML expertise: large language models, agentic frameworks, prompt engineering, orchestration platforms
- Strong understanding of enterprise AI infrastructure: LLM gateways, model routing, cost attribution, multi-provider strategies (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, AWS Bedrock)
- Demonstrated success delivering AI business solutions with measurable ROI in production - not just proofs of concept
- Experience establishing intake, prioritization, and portfolio management for an internal platform or services team
- Track record driving AI adoption across non-technical functions (sales, marketing, finance, HR)
- Strong executive presence with ability to translate AI capabilities into business impact for C-suite audiences
Bonus Points
- Experience building or scaling an AI Center of Excellence or enterprise automation practice
- Hands-on with orchestration platforms (n8n) and LLM gateway tools (Portkey, Bedrock, VertexAI)
- Experience managing enterprise AI governance - acceptable use policies, vendor security review, shadow AI mitigation
- Background in real estate technology, digital marketplaces, or media companies
- Experience within a multi-entity corporate structure with shared governance and technology standards
