Reporting to the Director of Regional Campus Recruitment Strategies & Initiatives, the Director of Enrollment for the Mansfield and Newark campuses of The Ohio State University works collaboratively with the Director of Enrollment for the Lima and Marion campuses. Leads the recruitment and new student enrollment functions on each campus; provides leadership and operational direction to staff members including admissions counselors and administrative support personnel. Hires, trains, and provides coaching and feedback to staff. Actively participates in the university’s performance review process. Promotes and leads professional development opportunities for the admissions team. Fosters a sense of teamwork and actively promotes the university’s shared values in their daily work. Develops territory management plans for effectively recruiting traditional and non-traditional populations for both campuses; directs efforts to identify and enroll students in target markets and key academic programs; guides the recruitment and enrollment processes and implements change when necessary, using data to support decisions. Uses data from Tableau dashboards, Salesforce and Capture to inform recruitment and outreach activities.

Direct staff in prioritizing and completing outreach efforts. Alongside the visits and events team, plans and executes meaningful and impactful admissions events. Works collaboratively with the Director of Enrollment for Mansfield/Newark Campuses and the Director of Regional Campus recruitment Strategies and Initiatives to develop and implement the visits and events plan across all campuses. Ensures staffing, campus partners and facilities support the successful execution of events. Works collaboratively with the Office of Marketing and Communications to support the execution of the strategic recruitment marketing plan for the Mansfield and Newark campuses with a keen awareness of trends impacting all regional campuses. Collaborates with on-campus marketing and communications partners on additional projects and materials, as needed. Ensures university policies and procedures are followed; oversees the admissions office budget and all recruitment-related travel and events; collaborates with colleagues across the university to promote the campuses of Ohio State Mansfield and Ohio State Newark.

Serves as key member of Student Success & Retention Committees and the deans’ leadership teams. Maintain presence and engagement through regular and consistent in-person presence on both campuses. Builds team dynamics on both campuses.

Represents the university at on and off-campus events promoting the regional campus and the Ohio State experience. Evening and weekend hours required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Five years of experience with progressively increased responsibilities in higher education and student recruitment. Prior experience and success in a managerial and/or supervisory capacity; demonstrated excellent writing and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work in a flexible organization; excellent program planning and implementation skills; knowledge of current best practices in recruitment, particularly for open admission institutions; experience with current recruitment technologies; excellent public speaking, oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, skilled in data interpretation, compilation and report presentation. Ability to travel between Newark and Mansfield campuses to work with enrollment teams.

Desired: Master's degree; Familiarity with Peoplesoft, Salesforce, and OnBase.

Additional Information:

Salary range for this position is $64,900 – $84,850. 

The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
