Job Description Summary

The Director of Engineering is responsible for overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations to ensure the hotel’s facilities are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. This leadership role involves managing a team of engineers, developing and implementing maintenance strategies, overseeing budget and cost control, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and collaborating with various departments to enhance guest experiences.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

  - Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

  - Develop and implement departmental goals and objectives aligned with the hotel's overall strategy.

Facility Operations:

  - Oversee all maintenance and engineering operations, ensuring the hotel’s facilities are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.

  - Manage preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely completion of repairs and renovations.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

  - Prepare and manage the engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.

  - Analyze and report on operational efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and cost savings.

Compliance & Safety:

  - Ensure all engineering practices comply with local regulations, safety standards, and hotel policies.

  - Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure compliance and safety.

Collaboration:

  - Work closely with other departments to support hotel operations and enhance guest satisfaction.

  - Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair projects.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field;

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering management, preferably in the hospitality industry.

- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

- Proven track record of managing large teams and complex projects.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
