What We’re Looking For: 

A visionary and results-driven Director of Engineering who will lead the Engineering Department with precision and purpose. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee all maintenance and engineering operations, ensuring property assets are maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and quality. What You’ll Do: 

  • Provide strategic and hands-on leadership and oversight for all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness across the property.  

  • Develop and manage comprehensive preventive maintenance strategies to optimize facility performance.  

  • Establish, implement, and monitor Life Safety protocols and emergency training programs for all personnel.  

  • Ensure meticulous maintenance and repair record keeping in compliance with corporate policies and legal requirements.  

  • Direct inspections and certifications of all Life Safety systems and equipment to meet regulatory standards.  

  • Conduct high level assessments of property assets, prioritizing maintenance projects, and identifying opportunities for operational and capital improvements.  

  • Oversee the creation and administration of the Engineering Department’s budget, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals.  

  • Lead the identification and presentation of long-term capital project priorities to senior leadership for approval.  

  • Champion the preparation and management of the annual ADA compliance checklist.  

  • Actively participate as a key member of the Executive Committee, contributing to strategic discussions and company-wide initiatives.  

  • Manage relationships with external contractors to ensure quality and timely completion of projects.  

  • Lead recruitment, training, and performance management for the engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.  

  • Maintain optimal staffing levels and provide daily leadership to ensure operational efficiency.  

  • Oversee key administrative duties, including payroll, attendance tracking, corrective actions, and performance reviews. 

  • Stand, walk, reach, work on ladders, and lift/pull/push 50 plus pounds regularly throughout shifts. 

  • Work flexible shifts to include varying timeframes, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.  

  • Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

  

Your Experience Includes: 

  • A minimum of five years of experience as an Assistant Chief or Chief Engineer in a hotel or hospitality environment, with hands-on leadership and technical expertise, or comparable Director of Engineering experience at a luxury hotel preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, life safety systems, and energy management operations. 

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and blue-line drawings for project execution and maintenance planning. 

  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, equipment operations, and maintenance protocols, and effective record-keeping systems. 

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills with a focus on organizational effectiveness and clear communication. 

  • Experience with computer-based management systems that streamline operations and track performance.
