Resmed’s Bengaluru Global Capability Center is seeking a Director of Engineering to directly lead the Res AI organization and provide strategic, indirect oversight across our broader Digital Platform Engineering (DPE) teams in India. In this high-impact role, you’ll shape technology strategy, guide architecture, and scale a high-performing engineering organization that powers digital experiences for patients and providers worldwide.

The Digital Platform Engineering organization builds cloud-native platforms that enable engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions quickly and reliably. DPE provides secure, scalable foundations — including integrated CI/CD pipelines, experimentation frameworks, identity services, and standardized “paved roads” for cloud deployment — ensuring seamless, interoperable experiences across ResMed’s digital ecosystem.
Res AI, part of the Global Data and Intelligence Platforms within DPE, accelerates AI innovation across ResMed by providing teams with unified access to modern AI infrastructure, tools, and services. The platform supports rapid experimentation and scalable deployment of AI capabilities, empowering product, engineering, and clinical teams to create meaningful, personalized experiences for our users.
Let's talk about the Responsibilities
Establish and scale a world-class engineering organization with direct leadership of the Res AI teams and indirect engineering oversight across the broader Digital Platforms organization, including Data, Developer Experience (DevX), Integration, and Identity. Drive talent acquisition, mentorship, and technical empowerment to build deep domain expertise. Define structured career progression, cultivate leadership at all levels, and promote an inclusive, high-performance culture aligned with Resmed’s strategic objectives.
Own Platform Strategy & Architecture: Define and evolve the technology roadmap for the Res AI platform, while contributing architectural guidance to adjacent DPE platform areas. Set best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable systems.
Accelerate Innovation in Digital Health: Champion the adoption of emerging technologies—AI-driven analytics, IoT integration, cloud-native patterns—to deliver next-generation patient experiences and data insights.
Optimize Delivery & Operations: Oversee sprint planning, resource allocation, and performance metrics. Implement processes to drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement in platform operations, including the adoption of Inner Sourcing to accelerate development, reduce duplication, and increase cross-team collaboration.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
15+ years of experience in software engineering, including 7+ years leading large-scale, multi-team organizations focused on AI and digital platforms/product engineering.
Strong background in building and scaling Data & AI platforms using cloud-native services (e.g., SageMaker, AI gateways), vector DBs, guardrails, and next-generation AI/agentic capabilities, etc.
Proven success in designing and scaling large-scale digital platforms, preferably in healthcare or regulated industries.
Expertise in cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure), microservices, containerization, and API design.
Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives, deliver complex programs, and grow engineering talent.
Strong stakeholder management skills with experience collaborating across product and engineering leadership.
Desired Skills
Prior experience within a Global Capability Center supporting digital health solutions.
Deep understanding of Identity solutions, and data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR).
Hands-on knowledge of agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
