Job Summary: The Director of Data & Analytics, will report to the CIO and is responsible for crafting and implementing Wayne-Sanderson Farms' enterprise data strategy while establishing a centralized data and analytics organization. This role encompasses leadership over Master Data Management, data sourcing and consolidation across operational systems, enterprise reporting, and advanced analytics utilizing AI for strategic decision-making. In close collaboration with departmental stakeholders like Finance, Sales, and Operations, the director ensures data integrity and provides insights that drive key business outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the enterprise data and analytics strategy, aligned with corporate objectives.
- Build and lead a high-performing DnA team, including data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and governance specialists.
- Foster a data-driven culture across the organization, promoting self-service analytics and democratization of data.
- Serve as a senior thought partner to business leaders and present progress to the leadership team.
Data Platform & Architecture
- Design and implement a centralized data warehouse to integrate data from all information technology systems, OT systems, and other external or 3rd party sources.
- Oversee the selection and deployment of modern data platforms (cloud-based solutions, ETL tools, BI platforms).
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of data infrastructure.
Data Governance & MDM
- Establish data governance policies, standards, and processes to ensure data integrity, privacy, and compliance.
- Implement Master Data Management solutions to maintain consistent and accurate data across systems.
- Define and monitor data quality KPIs and enforce governance controls.
Analytics & AI-Driven Insights
- Lead the development and rollout of enterprise reports and dashboards for all departments.
- Utilize AI and machine learning for predictive and prescriptive analytics, enabling proactive decision-making and operational optimization.
- Design and implement responsible AI frameworks, ensuring ethical use, bias mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
Collaboration & Change Management
- Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Drive organizational change to adopt new tools and processes for data utilization.
- Lead data literacy programs, upskilling employees across departments on self-service analytics tools and best practices.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in data management, analytics, and business intelligence, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of building and scaling enterprise data platforms and teams.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks and applying predictive and prescriptive analytics in business contexts
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Expertise in data architecture, ETL processes, data warehousing, and cloud technologies (Azure, Snowflake, Data Bricks, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and data modeling.
- Familiarity with IoT/OT data integration and real-time data streaming
- Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead organizational change and foster a data-driven culture.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
- This role is a Leader of People role and will manage a team with two or more full-time employees
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
