Your New Role...

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Communications, you will be responsible for leading media relations and external communications projects across the corporate team. Your role will work cross functionally across the organization to support our corporate communications activities to further advance our overall corporate voice and narrative. You will support the development and execution of communications strategies and tactics related to corporate, crisis and policy communications and media relations. 

 

As the Director of Corporate Communications, you will interface with leaders internally as well as influential reporters who cover our brands and businesses. It will be important for you to stay current on developments affecting both the company and its industry in order to effectively drive proactive and reactive media relations. In this role you will need to work across the organization to identify compelling data and storylines. 

 

This role will require strong writing skills for materials including press releases, blog posts, media briefing documents, talking points, and research documents. 

 

Your Role Accountabilities... 

  • Making key decisions regarding media relations strategy, including rapid response strategies for media inquiries 

  • Generating narrative strategies, executing communications tactics and managing media relationships 

  • Supporting the corporate communications efforts of the company 

 

Qualifications & Experience...

Required Skills 

  • 10–12 years of experience in communications, either in-house or agency 

  • Excellent writing skills and significant media relations experience 

  • Corporate communications experience 

  • Ability to work on confidential projects with discretion 

  • Proven ability to deliver communications in fast-paced, highly dynamic environments 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of interacting effectively with executives and teams enterprise-wide 

  • Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders across a global company 

  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential projects 

  • Willingness to take on greater responsibilities and grow in the role 

  • Availability to travel and work nights/weekends as needed 

 

Preferred Skills 

  • In-depth knowledge of the media industry and related issues 

  • Financial communications experience 

  • Litigation communications experience 

  • Experience at the parent company level of a publicly-traded company 

 

Education 

  • BA/BS degree in journalism, English, creative writing, communications/public relations or related field required.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $105,000.00 - $195,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
