We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Director of Conference Services & Catering to lead and elevate our Events experiences and strategy within Four Seasons Hotel Firenze.
This role sits at the intersection of sales, strategic planning, and operational execution, ensuring that every group and event delivers exceptional guest experiences while maximizing revenue and profitability. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for the business strategy, including sales conversion and event planning through flawless on-site execution, while leading a high-performing team across Catering Sales and Event Planning.
What you will do
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
· Drive the achievement of overall Commercial and Catering revenue goals, aligning with the hotel’s strategic objectives.
· Review sales production, pace, and performance; implement proactive sales action plans to meet or exceed budget targets.
· Partner closely with Sales to optimize function space utilization and revenue mix.
· Lead negotiations, proposals, and menu presentations to maximize profitability while meeting client expectations.
· Identify and execute upselling and cross-selling opportunities across all group and event segments.
· Develop weekly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term planning strategies.
Event Planning & Client Experience
· Oversee the end-to-end planning and execution of all conferences, meetings, weddings, and social events.
· Ensure all programs are executed in line with brand standards and luxury service expectations.
· Act as the primary liaison for clients, ensuring seamless communication from contract signing through event completion.
· Translate client requirements into detailed execution plans, including BEOs, resumes, and event documentation.
· Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.
Operations & Execution Excellence
· Lead daily operations of the Catering teams to ensure flawless event delivery.
· Collaborate with Banquets, Culinary, Front Office, and Resort Operations to ensure alignment and efficiency.
· Oversee event execution on-site, ensuring quality standards and immediate resolution of any challenges.
· Manage group logistics including room blocks, arrivals/departures, and vendor coordination.
Leadership & Team Development
· Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team across Catering Sales, Conference Services, and Event Planning.
· Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
· Identify talent and create development and succession plans.
· Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training initiatives.
· Promote strong engagement and maintain high morale within a fast-paced environment.
Collaboration & Communication
· Act as a key partner to the Commercial Director, providing insights on trends and performance.
· Participate in key operational and strategic meetings, including sales meetings, pre-conventions, and planning sessions.
· Ensure clear and consistent communication across all departments and stakeholders.
· Maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external partners.
What you bring
· Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in Conference Services, Catering, or Events within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
· Proven track record in driving sales performance and revenue growth.
· Strong expertise in event planning, operations, and client relationship management.
· Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Fluency in English and Italian is required; additional languages are a plus.

Schedule & Hours:
Full‑time position based in Florence, with flexibility required to work outside standard office hours and during weekends as needed to personally support and oversee specific events.
Candidates must already hold valid authorization to work in Italy at the time of application.
