PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Director of Clinical Consultation & Education provides leadership, direction, and oversight of the organization’s clinical education, support, and service initiatives, with a focus on driving excellence across in-center and home dialysis programs. This role ensures that clinical programs align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The Director collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Nursing, and Product Support, while managing a team of Clinical Consultants. Through innovative leadership and strategic planning, the Director is responsible for developing clinical strategies that enhance patient care, support product adoption, and ensure clinical staff are trained and competent in delivering high-quality services.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage clinical activities to achieve and/or exceed sales objectives through development and alignment of business plans that align with national strategy and reflect market opportunities
- Build, lead, and sustain a high performing clinical team through recruiting, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
- Drive achievement of objectives by planning, monitoring, and evaluating results and performance while ensuring effective utilization of CRM tools to drive sales force productivity. Inspect engagement activities and training events.
- Assigns and adjusts team quotas, accounts, territories, and coverage models to support sales objectives and evolving business needs.
- Ensure clinical team members have the resources, training, enablement, and support required to effectively execute day-to-day responsibilities.
- Cultivate relationships with key customers and stakeholders positioning the Company as a partner of choice. Monitor regional market trends to inform strategy.
- Provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership on performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continual refinement of national clinical education programs and resources.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders (Sales, Nursing, Product, and Education leadership) to align training programs with clinical and business goals.
- Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators, quality improvement initiatives, and retention programs.
- Maintain current knowledge of nephrology practices, clinical innovations, and product applications to ensure programs reflect evolving standards.
- Ensure compliance with training requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
- Serve as a strategic problem-solver for complex, multi-site clinical challenges that impact patient outcomes and business operations.

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor's Degree required; preferably in Nursing; Masters Degree desirable
- Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- 10+ years of progressive experience in dialysis across all modalities (in-center, home, chronic, acute, PD).
- 5+ years of clinical management or senior leadership experience.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 70%.
- Time management, organizational skills for multiple projects and travel schedule
- Deep, extensive therapy knowledge with insight on outcomes based on protocol and procedures
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to represent the company within the local community, trade shows and within the renal product arena
