Case Management functions throughout majority of inpatient units within University Medical Center as well as the Emergency Center. Case Management works closely with Social Services. The attention to detail a nurse can provide along with a strong clinical training are critical components for the Case Manager at UMC. Our focus is Utilization Review with some discharge planning and coordination of care for patients. Our purpose is to provide high quality care through appropriate resource allocation, to assure effective and efficient utilization of hospital facilities and services, and help facilitate improving maximum financial strength. A Case Manager is first a member of the unit of Case Management but will also form a working professional relationship with their designated units to help improve care.


In compliance with the Philosophy of the Department of Nursing, will be responsible for operations of a specific nursing unit to ensure quality patient care, competent and responsible personnel management and cost efficient and effective utilization of unit resources.


Qualifications:

-Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
-Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
-Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
-MSN required
-Minimum of 5 years of RN experience required
-Previous leadership/management experience required
-Previous Case Management experience preferred
-ACM certification preferred
