Job Summary

The Director of Business Development - Alt Materials, Labor Operations, is instrumental in expanding our market share for specific runways, both regionally and nationally, throughout our Site Built business unit. This role will be responsible for growing wallet share with existing customers within our runways. Working closely with the VP of Sales, VP of Strategy, Marketing Team, and New Product Team, this role is responsible for executing our growth team strategies and increasing runway sales. By doing deep dives into industry research, analyzing data, and finding new leads, the Director spots new trends and opportunities, giving our field sales a significant push and being there as a key contact when needed. This role thrives on a blend of independence, creativity, and innovative thinking to drive sales. Operating with general supervision, the position leverages the individual's experience and judgment to meet objectives, fostering a culture where collaboration, innovation, and the strategic execution of plans enhance our field operations and drives our growth goals. 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive business runway strategy development for market share expansion, coordinating BU efforts, and aligning with customer needs and sales management.

  • Guide strategic growth teams and collaborate with the VP of Sales, RSMs, and account managers on strategic planning and execution, providing insights to leverage market opportunities.

  • Research industry trends and opportunities to inform strategic directions and identify growth opportunities for market expansion.

  • Identify and curate a predictive analytics model that brings trends to light.

  • Manage growth teams by establishing accountability measures, growth budgets, and clear growth team responsibilities for each member.

  • Responsible for determining market size and our BU’s specific share.

  • Enhance existing customer portfolios and establish connections with potential leads to support sales efforts and tap new opportunities.

  • Collaborate with marketing team to develop targeted advertising, buyer’s guides, playbooks, and trade event strategies, also managing product marketing positioning and additional strategic tasks.

  • Work with product development, leveraging our design excellence and test lab for new products tailored to needs of runway, aiming for strategic positioning.

  • Directly responsible for scaling of new products and new markets in conjunction with RSMs and the New Product team

  • Attend industry events for strategic insights and travel with sales reps as needed to drive runway sales, ensuring firsthand insights and direct support.

  • Tackle additional responsibilities to support the company's strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum five years of product development experience or UFP employee with relevant product experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry.

  • Knowledge of Framing, exterior cladding systems, and aluminum products

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
