Director of Anesthesia Practice Management

Remote Full Time

The Director of Anesthesia Practice Management is accountable to the President, East Division and holds the key responsibility of ensuring business support functions are supported and budgets are met at all sites and provider locations. Collaborating closely with the COO and SVP and operations team, the Director offers business support services including budget reports, analysis, staffing cost reports, administration support with contracts and insurance issues to Essential Anesthesia Management practice managers and leadership, serving as a connection between Senior Leadership and Essential Anesthesia Management support personnel. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure all sites have a budget that is set and reviewed with Practice Managers and Senior Leadership routinely 
  • Ensure that sites are compliant with all regulations, policies, and procedures through regular phone, text, and email correspondence 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships through both in person and virtual means with clinical providers, facility leadership, and internal team members such as Practice Managers, Schedulers, Credentialers and Senior Leadership. 
  • Serve as operational coordination between and among regional and operations leadership 
  • Work with COO and SVP to design business KPI metrics, establish or participate in a process to perform periodic site level business performance reviews based on metrics 
  • Monitor site progress through reports and dashboards for overall efficiency 
  • Provide support for regular meetings with site leadership and address ongoing issues; attend in person or remotely as needed 
  • Serve as triage for and intermediary for 1099 provider and facility issues regarding invoicing and accounts payable departments  
  • Participate in training and mentoring site leaders on business principals, budgets and core values of Essential Anesthesia 
  • Collaborate with the credentialing and revenue departments to ensure compliance with provider enrollment requirements and billing procedures. 
  • Troubleshoot issues and coordinate responses raised by providers, groups, or facility leaders to support Essential business operations 
  • Support the coordination of business and operational start-up and on-boarding for new sites 
  • Address operational performance factors that serve as barriers to achieving stated service line objectives 
  • In collaboration with Hiring Managers, Operations Leadership, and Human Resources, identify regional recruitment strategies

  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills, while being able to work independently and in a team setting 
  • Aptitude for building and maintaining relationships through active listening and understanding of customer and provider needs 
  • Proficient in utilizing various computer software programs, particularly Microsoft Office Suite. 

Qualifications: 

  • 5-7 years of experience in a related field, with a track record of success in management and leadership positions 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Health Management or a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a health care setting 
  •  Proven verbal, quantitative, financial and interpersonal skills, with in-depth knowledge of medical practice administration and multi-practice management experience 
  •  Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, customer service, and ability to interact with providers, customers, management, and partners 
  • Keen attention to detail and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and thrive in a team environment 
  • Ability to develop relationships by listening to the needs of our customers 
  • Ability to travel with regularity is required
