About The Position

The Director, Nuclear Organizational Effectiveness is an Ameren Leadership Team member reporting to the Sr. Director, Nuclear Plant Support and is responsible for providing direction and oversight for the Organizational Effectiveness (OR) function at the Callaway Energy Center. This role sets the strategic direction for OR programs and initiatives that drive sustained excellence in leadership, teamwork, human performance, and organizational learning.  The Director partners with senior leadership to proactively identify and address organizational challenges, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory expectations.  This position is responsible for oversight of operational excellence, including identification, evaluation and implementation of transformational solutions to deploy improvement opportunities throughout the company and assure strategic implementation of the evolved processes across all departments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leads the development and execution of the site's Organizational Effectiveness strategy.

  • Provides strategic oversight of performance improvement, human performance, organizational learning, the Corrective Action Program, industry benchmarking and station self-assessment programs.

  • Monitors station performance for early signs of organizational or leadership weaknesses and implements proactive intervention strategies.

  • Leads the planning and execution of Callaway's continuous improvement transformation roadmap by targeting business improvements in safety, quality, operational excellence, reliability, delivery, employee engagement, and cost.

  • Sponsors and guides site preparation for INPO/WANO evaluations and assessments, including follow-up actions and performance gap closure.

  • Collaborate with the Ameren Human Resources team to ensure site leadership development initiatives meet strategic needs and comply with POL0065, Callaway Site Leadership Program.

  • Influences and support cultural transformation efforts to build a resilient, learning-focused organization.

  • Represents OR in site-wide initiatives, committees, and governance forums.

  • Provides oversight and strategic advice to CNO and Callaway Leadership Team to improve the daily execution of the Ameren Missouri strategy and Callaway Business Plan.

  • Leads the evolving development and deployment of the corporate Continuous Improvement strategy and accompanying methodologies and processes.  Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and deploy methods to identify opportunities for improvement that support strategic objectives.

  • Sponsors the customer affordability efforts for the nuclear organization providing strategic direction, leadership and support of key strategic initiatives, and executive presentation updates on progress

  • Leads the evolving development and deployment of the corporate Continuous Improvement strategy and accompanying methodologies and processes. 

  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and deploy methods to identify opportunities for improvement that support strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required.

  • A total of ten (10) years of experience in responsible positions related to power generation required, of which three (3) years shall be nuclear power plant experience (professional level experience in nuclear services, nuclear plant operation, nuclear oversight, or nuclear engineering).

  • Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience is required.

  • Knowledge in the technical and organizational areas of operating and maintaining a nuclear plant is required.

  • SRO license or certification is preferred.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and business acumen.

  • Deep understanding of nuclear organizational effectiveness principles and industry standards.

  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive cultural change.

  • Highly effective interpersonal communications skills; able to effectively communicate and build relationships with stakeholders, process teams, leadership, and third parties

  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives and lead cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to effectively delegate responsibility and establish accountability for execution.

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment.  Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$165,100.00 - $255,900.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance. Director and above positions also include a Long-Term Incentive Plan and the option to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.
