As the Director of Medical Affairs Oncology in Japan, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our oncology assets and pipeline, serving as the local medical expert for Regeneron and driving impactful collaborations with internal teams and external stakeholders. A Typical Day:

  • Act as the local medical contact for Regeneron’s oncology assets and pipeline, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Medical Affairs, Clinical Sciences, Operations, and Regulatory, to optimize strategic and tactical planning.
  • Provide medical support for clinical trials, including identifying centers of excellence and key investigators, and assisting with operational tasks such as patient recruitment.
  • Deliver scientific presentations to diverse audiences, including physicians, pharmacists, and medical agencies, to advance medical understanding and engagement.
  • Assess and develop internal and external medical education strategies to address needs in the country.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations in the release of promotional materials and publications.
  • Represent Regeneron at professional medical meetings, symposia, and advisory boards, facilitating impactful scientific engagements.
  • Continuously maintain deep scientific and medical knowledge of oncology therapeutic areas, focusing on solid tumors and immuno-oncology.

This Role May Be For You If:

  • You have over 10–15 years of healthcare/scientific experience in oncology, including substantial time in a relevant medical role within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • You possess a thorough understanding of Japan’s Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Regulatory environment, with significant expertise in solid tumors and immuno-oncology.
  • You excel in a matrix, cross-functional environment and have demonstrated success in collaboration and strategic planning.
  • You are fluent in Japanese and English, with outstanding communication skills to convey medical concepts across diverse audiences.
  • You embody an entrepreneurial mindset, proactively identifying opportunities and taking action without prompting.
  • You value teamwork, integrity, and a commitment to excellence, while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • You are willing to travel (10–20%) and engage in meaningful collaborations with key opinion leaders and stakeholders.

To Be Considered:

Candidates must hold a medical degree (MD) and have extensive experience in oncology and the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, including drug development and life-cycle management. Preferred qualifications include experience in immuno-oncology, translational/basic research with publications, and people management skills. Fluency in Japanese and English is required, along with a willingness to travel.
