Sumitomo Pharma America is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Market Access Marketing to lead the development and execution of access-focused marketing strategies for GEMTESA, an FDA approved therapy for OAB & BPH. This role will be instrumental in evolving and developing new strategies, across channels including payer, organized customers, trade & distribution as well as provider engagement. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring patient access, working closely with the payor & organized customer teams as well as our patient support services group as we navigate a changing payer environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in market access marketing strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
Access Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute U.S. market access marketing strategies aligned with the product’s overall commercialization plan and lifecycle stage.
Payer & Provider Engagement Tools: Design and deliver unbranded and branded tools, value propositions, and communications to support access and reimbursement.
Cross-functional Leadership: Partner with Market Access, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Sales, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs to align and execute integrated launch and access strategies.
Sales Enablement: Collaborate with sales leadership to ensure pull-through of access strategies via training, messaging, and resources for account teams.
Patient Access Programs: Support the design and communication of patient assistance programs, hub services, and affordability offerings.
Landscape Assessment: Monitor competitive market access trends, pricing dynamics, and reimbursement policy changes in the OAB/BPH markets.
Customer Insights: Leverage customer, payer, and channel insights to inform access positioning and tactics.
Budget Management: Develop and manage brand access marketing budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in market access marketing, commercial strategy, or sales leadership within the biopharmaceutical industry.
Proven experience in Market Access Marketing, Account Management, Contracting or similar experience in brand marketing.
Strong understanding of U.S. payer landscape, provider reimbursement, and patient access pathways.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and strategic planning skills.
Preferred Attributes:
Familiarity with value frameworks, payer evidence requirements, and HEOR integration.
Strong analytical mindset and comfort working in evolving or ambiguous environments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 10 years in pharmaceutical / Healthcare experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Market Access, with proven leadership in strategic operations.
Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of the US healthcare system, including payor landscape, reimbursement processes and health economics
The base salary range for this role is $214,480 to $268,100. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
