The Role

As Genmab advances toward commercialization in Europe, this position will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s success in the German market. The Director, Market Access (Germany) is responsible for developing and executing strategies to ensure optimal market access, reimbursement, and pricing outcomes for Genmab’s oncology portfolio. This role requires strong expertise in market access and health economics, as well as effective collaboration with regional and global teams in Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial Operations, and Corporate Affairs, and engagement with HTA bodies, payers, policymakers, and key external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Market Access & Reimbursement

  • Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive German market access and reimbursement strategies for Genmab’s oncology products.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of value dossiers, benefit assessments (AMNOG/G-BA), and pricing negotiations with the GKV-SV.
  • Translate clinical and economic evidence into compelling value arguments tailored to the German healthcare system.
  • Monitor health policy developments, HTA trends, and reimbursement landscapes to inform local access strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with global and regional Market Access teams to ensure alignment with European and corporate strategies.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs to ensure generation and communication of robust evidence supporting value demonstration and reimbursement success.
  • Support strategic pricing decisions, budget impact analyses, and payer engagement initiatives to secure sustainable access.
  • Support EU marketing on local needs in terms of materials and processes.

Health Policy, Stakeholder Engagement & External Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with payers, HTA authorities, policy influencers, and other relevant external stakeholders in Germany.
  • Represent Genmab in key discussions, working groups, and policy forums relevant to access and reimbursement.
  • Provide input into policy shaping and advocacy activities in close collaboration with Corporate Affairs and regional access teams.
  • Gather and communicate payer insights to inform strategic planning, evidence generation, and launch readiness.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Medical Affairs to align on evidence generation, value messaging, and payer-relevant data dissemination.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs and Legal to ensure all access-related activities meet compliance and ethical standards.
  • Provide local market access expertise to cross-functional brand and launch teams, contributing to forecasting, lifecycle planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Represent Germany within European and global Market Access networks to ensure local needs and perspectives are reflected in global access strategies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Health Economics, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in market access, pricing, reimbursement, or health economics within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven track record managing AMNOG submissions, benefit assessments, and pricing negotiations in Germany.
  • Strong understanding of the German healthcare system, HTA and payer landscape, and oncology market dynamics.
  • Experience in product launches and lifecycle management for specialty or oncology medicines.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, international environment.
